Gloucester-based producer BadKlaat has been steadily climbing the Dubstep ranks for the past few years. With his signature sound creating waves throughout the bass music spectrum as of late, his highly anticipated debut EP for Dub Police entitled ‘Machine’ is ready to be unleashed to the masses. He is, of course, no stranger to Dub Police followers, having released the massive ‘Get Twisted’ on the ‘Past Present Future’ compilation back in 2013. It was one of the many standout tracks from the compilation, and was well received by DJs and ravers alike.

To kick things off, BadKlaat calls in reinforcements from fellow bass prodigy Requake on the huge lead track ‘Oracle’, with its big Trap-style beats, nasty bass growls and ferocious synth leads setting the pace nicely. ‘Gypsy Dub’ is a straight banger and takes no prisoners with its plodding drums and glitchy bass stabs, guaranteed to send any dancefloor into hysterics - fans of ‘Get Twisted’ will be digging this one for sure. Next up is the outrageous ‘Machine VIP’, which again shows no mercy; thumping kicks, hard hitting snares and robotic, warping bass, guaranteed to make your head nod. Bringing proceedings to a close is the super dark and minimal ‘Passage’; sharp beats, filtered bass rumbles, plucky synths and eerie pads, again all effortlessly arranged to create this futuristic and moody roller.

‘Machine’ EP shows the versatility of this exciting producer and his ability to take different styles from the bass music spectrum, fusing them together to create a sound all of his own. Watch out for more from BadKlaat in 2015, as he’s set to further establish his name amongst the new wave of Dubstep bass-gods.
