Yeah Klock is good, but not worth the fact that every night he plays is sold outLiam92 wrote:Didn't get into Ben Klock last night cos it was full. Went to see Traxx do a 4 hour set instead and it was absolutely sick

few good bits on the new kendrick album
dont get me wrong half of it is done in a strained ridiculous mocky voice like eminem or snl
and most of the funk soul bits are drenched in terribly tasteless choir sounding like a mongoloid goodie mob
the highly afrocentric spoken word bits are cringe central
but he does go in on a few tracks and it doesn't feel as wet and baity as good kid
the bubu track is super sick

Re: things that have made you happy today
I learned to do decent sidechaining
I thought you couldn't tweak the sidechain in garageband, so for ages I've had to manage without, cus the default setting sounded like crap, but you can adjust attack etc so now my kicks/subs sound banging

Re: things that have made you happy today
How do you mean tweak the SC? Can't you just send the signal you want as a
trigger to the SC input of a compressor? You can put any effect on any bus really.
I never even booted Garageband though. Is it a full DAW nowadays?

I dunno but I feel like I can get what I want with it, except proper audio manipulation like slowing down/reversing/tape stop effect, which I do in audacityAxeD wrote:How do you mean tweak the SC? Can't you just send the signal you want as a

post up some of your garageband beats; really curious to hear

Re: things that have made you happy today
side chaining is sick and very detail orientated work if you end up really getting a feel for it. it's not just this huge dynamic force in principle.
instead of using one element from the song to duck another element, try using different stuff as the carrier (or ghost) signal

Re: things that have made you happy today
i just about worked out how to sidechain the bass to my drum rack the other day, need to work out how to get it on the kick alone tbh
on topic,

									on topic,

Re: things that have made you happy today
with relation to kicks in bpms above 130 or so (which historically rock goes to sometimes and therefore part of a compressors design)
it's probably a good idea to deal with it manually, like having the bass bounced to wav and then doing a simple quick manual volume (or mute) fade where the kicks go
because a compressor isn't fast enough or trustworthy enough to get properly in sync in time with the next kick
