Best vst synth around

ya just playing around with it right now...harmless and harmor seem to be working well. Sytrus is a little buggy in that it crashes logic some times, but the fact that I can use it is amazing. Only real complaint so far is that automation seems to only work in the minihost, so you have to set up an envelope filter and some confusing stuff instead of just working it into the regular logic automation window. Will keep posting here as I figure out any more bugs or awesome things to do with it.

It's easily NI Massive for me, I can make almost anything I want with it and there is always something new to do. There isn't a sound I've needed that I can't make with Massive. I'd love to learn Serum or FM8 but I can never pull any good growls/bass sounds out of them..

updating about the imageline plugins... definitely some bugs currently, but for the most part they work well. Sytrus is working great, and I figured out the automation issues. Wasn't even considering getting an fm synth prior to this, but growls are really easy in it and you can make so many different sounding things once you get the hang of rather than how a lot of massive growls sound similar if they don't have a ton of post processing. Harmor and harmless are great for plucks and supersaws...harmor is definitely going to take some time to learn, as the harmonic approach is very different than other plugins that I have used. Even as an alpha release, these have been awesome, and if I ever transition from mac to pc I will almost certainly be looking at buying fl studio.

So many good synths out on the market, but it depends what sound you're after.
Massive: Easy modulation mapping, great for basses like growls and reeses, but I'm sure we all know creating a unique sound in massive is almost nearly impossible now (for dubstep basses that is, I can still make pretty awesome pads and stuff onit.) It has been rinsed for the past 5 years and there is only a limit to the possibilities like every other synth
Albino 3: Also another great one for basses, you have more control over the filtering, you can adjust the drive and warmth of the filters, not had much play with it though, but I know rusko used it for many of his bangers
Sylenth: Great for leads, plucks, supersaws, pads and that sort of stuff
Zebra and Zebrify: You can create unique time changing sounds, you can make up to 16 different waveforms (manually hand drawn) and make it morph from the 1st to last one in your desired amount of time ((half a bar, one bar, 4 bars) So that great for pads and heavy modulated basses
There's a new one out called VirtualCZ: Emulator of one the old Casio hardware synths, it's phase modulation synth (sort of like FM), so you can create really really unique sounds
Synthmaster 2: Probs one of my favourites, but also the most difficult.. It isn't just one type of synth, you can add up to FOUR different types of synthesis, in one patch! For e.g one osc could wavetable synthesis, and the next could be FM, Additive or Subtractive. As you can imagine you could make some really unique sounds on that. Probably all round good for everything. But you must have some sound design knowledge for that, hence the name synth master lol. It isn't also that user friendly, I first looked at it and cried a little.

One be-able-to-do-whatever-you-can-think-of-synth that I'm gonna get soon as I have some spare money is Blue 2, I have just tried the demo version this far. Seriously, you have six oscillators with all sorts of waveforms (basic ones/wavetable stuff like Massive/weird ringy and formant and so on) and shape/spread/PWM/feedback/other knobs for mangling them, 2 multimode filters + 6 effect slots and shit loads of different effects. Add to that there's FM matrix which is like literally stolen straight from FM8, "by-hand" waveshaping where you manually shape the wave by using your mouse, flexible routing possibilities and all regular stuff like arp, multiple envelopes, unison etc. Sound is damn good and the price is like 170€/$ or something (can't remember). Only con is that you can't load your own samples to it like you can do with Alchemy for example.

I like Z3ta+2. It's relatively old in comparison to some other synths but it's cool. It's got a really cool waveshaper for each of the individual six oscillators and each osc can FM/AM/RM etc into the next one.
