The Mopho is a beast...I'm I"m ready to fall in love w/ it all over again as a knobby, keyboard synth. The module w/ no editor or MIDI controller is for the birds though...unless you are just absolutely broke and dedicated...

The Mopho module price point (used) is so fucking stupid low for the vibes/tone you can get from it. I'm trying not to be an Arturia/MicroBrute hater...but it really just doesn't compare...the MicroBrute either sounds average, thin or brutally distorted. You can squeeze so much more from the Mopho.

I've got such a hard on for the DSI sound right now I'd probably do some skanky sexual favors for the cash to add a Tetra...once I work up the courage to do another round of eBay sales it WILL BE MINE...

Eh. I'm kinda off the P08 at this point.

I'm quite set on polychaining a Tetra to the Mopho keys. I'm pretty interested in the Pro2 actually. I know a musician on another forum who has been kicking some serious ass with a Pro2 and we are releasing an EP of his with a lot of Pro 2 sounds or sounds processed by the Pro 2. I don't actually have room for it...but...you know...

Pro 2 is beef. Would definitely want. I think I'd need the extra voices though. For the love of god I'm playing two handed chords now.

I can't play so I'm not that arsed about it. Pro 2 does have paraphony, don't know how that actually plays out sonically. Its probably apples and oranges, however, I had been thinking about a Pulse 2 but the paraphony sounded so terrible on it I decided going with some kind of DSI polyphonic option was worth the extra dosh by miles. Honestly I think the Vola Keys might do better chord sounds than the Pulse 2.

Is the overdrive analog? Is it an fx? Or is it at a osc level, at a mix level?

It sounded like it was a digital effect tbh but I'm not sure. All I know is I turned it up went "eurgh that sounds a bit grim" then turned it off. The synth sounds plenty nice with out any effects on it anyway and I'm sure there are better ways to overdrive it

Boys. I'm telling you. EHX LPB2UBE...not intended as overdrive...but you can't do better for the money...

Thank god I've got 4 minibrutes and 4 microbrutes laying around here. Was just using them as roller skates.

Re the delay... typical Arturia. Honestly, the company scares me. I do not feel like they're solid. Totally defective hardware, spontaneously discontinued products, big delays in releasing announced products, no customer support... I get that they are trying to do something very powerful, I get that they're doing it very inexpensively, but I don't believe in them as a company. Maybe they will mature and get their act together. I hope so, they're really pushing the envelope.

Fuck it, it's cheap hardware at the end of the day. Few bugs just add character. I'll happily buy the Beatstep and a Microbrute to compliment what I've got. ONly thing I'm not sold on is the Spark.

I sold my minibrute, which I bought new, and worked perfectly, so can't say, but apparently the keyboard just goes out on them. Like finito. I can't recall what I bought it for, ordered when announced at Namm (got it in May I think, maybe June?), maybe $500. $500 for an analog monosynth is a pretty good deal, but not if the keybed lasts 3 years. That is just too shitty. I don't think this is like a small percentage either, from what I've seen it is really common.

If Arturia was like, our bad, we'll fix them, or we'll split the cost, or something it would have been hugely expensive, but would have built brand loyalty, see DSI's p08 initial rotary encoders. Even if Arturia was like, you know what, our bad, we can't help you out, but we're pioneers and that is the kind of shit that happens, it'd be even just a little better, but I got the impression their response what like, what keybed? (really don't know what I'm talking about here)

Certainly hope the beatstep pro works out. If I've ever got stacks of cv stuff, and this thing works, definitely will be on the list (of things I want but can't afford :corncry: )

I guess if the Beatstep works out, keyboard quality on the brutes won't be as much of a factor.

They should give everyone with a blown keyboard a beatstep pro as compensation then, agreed. But their products consistently have serious defects, so there is not much indication that the beatstep pro will remain functional...
