Re: microbrute.
Used to own a minibrute. Really charming little synth.
Re: microbrute.
I went and got a Bass Station 2, didn't I...
Let the hardware synth collecting begin... I have dreams of a studio like the fantastically ridiculous ones you see in the future music studio tours.

Re: microbrute.
Haha, you can keep it in your closet now. All this new analog gear is so tiny.
Re: microbrute.
^ pretty sure my old rackmount bass station was smaller than the keyboard one

Trying playing
With that middle finger.

Re: microbrute.
It is probably fun to see what something so limited can do, and I'm sure it impresses . Realistically can it compare to what you can do with the power of a software synth without much innovation at all.
Re: microbrute.
The microbrute has loads of performance and hands on ability. The Sequencer looks great. Plus it has it's own character. It's not going to do something crazy a softsynth can't. You're just likely to make something different with it
Re: microbrute.
I will take hands on playing on an analog synth over mucking about with a vst any day.
Re: microbrute.
This is true. I do also like having something real to touch. Would rather have the Bass Station II personally though.wolf89 wrote:The microbrute has loads of performance and hands on ability. Re: microbrute.
I still own my Bass Station Rack that I purchased used in the late '90's. It was actually one of the first new analog synths that had MIDI to CV capabilities and and external filter input. This was coming off of the back of several years of Romplers (which I love) and physical modeling.
You are one of several people on here that used to own a minibrute. I think nowaysj too. Those things haven't even been out that long, why are you getting rid of them?Undrig wrote:Used to own a minibrute. Really charming little synth.

This.
Also sold my sub... mistake, also sold vla II... mistake, also sold apc 40... mistake, also sold boss dd5 or 7... mistake. That dude got quite a deal. Dude was coming down from harvest, had a ROLL of hundreds. Him and his girl SMELLED. I was like you guys coming back from harvest, she was like, "how did you know". Haha. But it was nothing against the minibrute. I really liked it. It wasn't a love, but it was a strong like.

Re: microbrute.
I totally feel you nowaysj. I'm in the same boat myself at the moment.
Re: microbrute.
Well, you're welcome to my couch homie. Any time. Just bring the rhodes with you, yeah?
And my family gets up between 4am-6am, so, either be a heavy sleeper, or a really late stayuperer.

Re: microbrute.
Microbrute emits crazy amounts of noise when you plug the USB cable into it. I wish I knew this before I bought it. I need a DI box.
Re: microbrute.
What do you use for audio i/0? The micro should put out a strong enough signal to record on the line in?
Re: microbrute.
The thing is fine if I run straight audio. It's just when I plug the usb cable in for midi, it makes a lot signal interference. I'm not the only one with this problem.

That's a shocking design flaw lol
Re: microbrute.
Anyone layered the micro with the mini?
Saw a video on YT a while ago where the guy had the two synced.
