http://www.outlookfestival.com/launchparties/ + https://www.facebook.com/subdub1/posts/768148939920961 = It's safe to assume it will happen on the May bank holiday weekend at Leeds West Indian Centre. I'll probably do the trip if I can manage to get a ticket, that is obviously not to be missed.
Re: DMZ 10th Birthday???
Big ups on the detective work, looks like I'm going to Leeds!

Re: DMZ 10th Birthday???
after that TiD video for the medi night, and Mala's admiration for the RC1, could we maybe see an Iration Steppas vs. RC1 for DMZ 10 ??Kensington wrote: Fuuuucck, back on the Iration Steppas sound system
Re: DMZ 10th Birthday???
Not sure about party but dmz is certainly 10 years old this week. Their birthday was usually on the first weekend in March usually.
Re: DMZ 10th Birthday???
I hope its in may, that's just after my last exam, would be sick to go dmz then

Electric maybe? They'd have no issues filling it. Yunx had the RC1 in there for Contact a while back so could be an option!

Good shout. What other venues are there in Brixton? Plan B? Jamm? Although I'd imagine they'll be too small for an event on this scale....T_macabre wrote:Electric maybe? They'd have no issues filling it. Yunx had the RC1 in there for Contact a while back so could be an option!
Re: DMZ 10th Birthday 10/07/15
All over this
Electrics only venue i can think of on a size like that, Mala's does Broken Dub House in Prince of Wales but that's too small for a DMZ birthday these days surely?
Unless it's on a warehouse/car park tip again

Electric would work if they sack off the stage and bring the decks down to the dancefloor, System style. It felt like a gig more than a rave at the Contact night, although the RC1 was feckin' monstrous. On it whatever happens, though.

Yeah the RC1 on the contact night was amazing, but I don't think - even including upstairs - that Electric has enough space for a DMZ 10th anniversary dance?
Its a pain to go for a smoke when its too full... but that's my problem I guess

Other than that there is only Brixton Jam (possibly? hold 600 a cross 2 rooms iirc) Plan B (400 cap up top) PoW (again like 2-300) and Dogstar (lolno)

Electric is a good size however if it's proper pack up it's very unpleasant indeed. Smoking area becomes shoulder to shoulder standing room only, main dancefloor is a tnuc to get across. Not to mention the price of the bar, though that's par for the course around Brixton.
Surprised no one has suggested the Academy, TBH. Not like a DMZ 10th birthday would have trouble filling it, plenty of room for rigs, multiple rooms, etc...

^feeling Electric or a warehouse/carpark stizzle
If it was in Academy they'd have been banging on about it for time I reckon

yeah i thought it could be at the academy but figured it'd be mentioned before now. Four Tet's night there was good though.Johoosh wrote:^feeling Electric or a warehouse/carpark stizzle
