808 snares are not the same as modern trap snares at all

its either too much work or not really possible to turn a normal 808 snare into the snare from this for example:

808 snares dont sound like that out of the box but you can get them there if you know what youre doing. but yeah fair point, is pretty pointless when theres samples around for dayzzzz

Ive been trying to make a snare like that for weeks.
How?
im not just using the samples cos i want to make a snare that has that high end ping to it but uses an acoustic snare as the base layer. i tried layering with claves and stuff but no matter what i do with it is just sounds like a fucked up snare with a clave.

went to production especially sound design. goddam. totally different world than SNH. looking at this place youd think the production forum would be full of techno / grime production tips and sample packs but it's just 360 noscope kidz STILL asking for diblo and skrillex tips

I came to post this:

EVERYONE PLEASE PAY ATTENTION!!!

Due to the 24 hour limit between posts over at the new forum, we have agreed to start using a combination of high atmospheric helium balloons, mirrors, and of course smoke signals. Given the curvature of earth and rates of assent in standard atmospheric conditions, we've determined that we can effectively relay messages to forum members in a marginally faster time than the new forum. Our preliminary tests show that a post can reasonably expect to reach a user within 20 hours, if everyone remains vigilant and continues their watch of distant horizons. This will shave 4 hours off of the communication time, and should lead to more interaction between the remaining 20 users of DSF.

Okay guise, I've been working on a post, here she goes, if my trigonometric calculations are correct this post should be visible by those in Illinois, OGLime, I think you've got lead on this. If you could relay it to at least dickman6969696969 in Pennsylvania, he should be able to reach NY easily. From there, we're going to need maximum inflation to reach Lace. From there, we should have a pretty easy line of site to the UK, but the Irish might need to keep a look out, just in case.
