it's strange, dudes in this thread have always been so on point when i've asked about djs and i've loved the nights i've hit this past year, but still i can't listen to techno when i'm at home, got no urge to dig deeper outside of nights (beyond a surface scraping amount of peverelist, livity, hodge and more 130ish bits)
fair enough
tho imo there's a lot more techno that's "home listening" material than a lot of other electronic/dance music genres tbh. depends on what you're into

for those coming from a dubstep background, I think Lee Gamble's latest LP "Koch" might serve as a good introduction to recent techno excursions. and pretty much everything by Andy Stott; their sound palette and general ambiance isn't unsimilar to a lot of the darker, moodier, heavier dubstep that's out there.
tbf it took Beneath to get me into techno and have me digging for the good stuff.

i agree with andy stott - a lot of modern love stuff tbh - he's even got some straight dubstep tunes. and shit like monolake & t++ etc who also made some dubstep-y (and even autonomic before it was autonomic; not to mention the clear jungle influences in t++'s work) stuff.
some raster noton stuff as well - kanding ray's "pruitt igoe" or aoki takamasa's "rv8" for instance.
pole/~scape probably deserves a shout too. even put out 2 dubstep comps featuring the likes of ramandanman, trg, martyn, shackleton, pinch etc.
some mmm/fiedel/errorsmith could be worth a shot - "nous sommes mmm" sounds like pev making big room house, "dex / rio" could pass for a weird uk funky record and errorsmith's "last dance" could fit alongside some actress or weirder 130 shit
