Tyke Records is a Hyponik label set up to release the cream of the electronic underground. Tyke is the little noisy “bastard child of bass” who is only ever happy when releasing the finest underground music around. The first release comes via prolific dubstep and grime producer Mark One who is also the producer of the next hotly tipped grime stars the Virus Syndicate.

Empire is set to become one of the grime anthems of the year with many a rewind guaranteed to take place across the globes grime clubs. Mark One samples the Imperial March of Star Wars and smashes the track home with a huge monstrous thumper of a bass line.

Neva Argue is another display of Mark’s sampling skills and is a very different take on his usual productions. The Virus Syndicate vocal version has been getting many plays across Radio 1xtra and the many London based pirate stations. Uniquely individual and very catchy.

Dirty birds is a track inspired by groupie goings on during the Rephlex Grime USA tour, eerie squeaks and blips combine to form that mechanical beat sound Mark One has become renowned for..then cue the metallic bass line and you have yet another slab of filth inspired dubstep from the main man Mark One. These birds must have been really dirty indeed.

Loungin is a more laid back affair with deep dark tabla and saxophone samples that drag the listener deeper and deeper into Mark One territory. A real low end wobbler of a bass line completes the track and is polished off nicely with some piercing vocal stabs. One for the mc’s.
