What are you saying here exactly, that people smoke weed because the music isn't good enough?
why is that more of a ridiculous suggestion than "people shove K up their faces because the music isn't good enough"? either way the substances people choose to take in raves don't really have anything to do with the music not being good enough... it's just what people do when they go out.
assuming we're not just telling people what to do, and assuming no one is stupid enough to actually think any drug is "evil", then presumably all people are saying is that people on K in raves are really annoying and spoil other peoples fun... I've seen far more people totally pranged out, smashed to pieces after smoking too much at fwd>> than I have people K-ed off their faces

Erm, I was just asking Shonky for clarification of what he meant.
It's not any more ridiculous at all, in fact I'd have to agree. That's why I was asking.
What I said earlier that seems to have got you all defensive was 'if you need the drugs then perhaps the music isn't good enough'. OK?
And yes I'd agree that messy people can be annoying. I think sometimes people use drugs as an excuse to be annoying and messy in fact, but that's another matter.

Yeah really if you need the drugs then perhaps the music isn't good enough.
That'd be why everyone's really anti-weed then I guess, or is that food now?

I'd say that k can enhance it like weed can and a bump of k is probably the same level effect as smoking a joint. It is interesting that since smoking's been banned in clubs that the dubstep crowd seems to be moving more towards the more upbeat (2 step, techno, 4/4/niche) and that's probably connected
When I stopped smoking weed for a while I couldn't believe quite how dull a lot of the stuff I used to love sounded

Damn straight.
I suppose you could call it a symbiotic relationship where the two complement each other but really I think that doesn't reflect very well on those tunes.
I love to puff when i'm chillin at home, listenin to tunes... but when I go out i wanna last all night so maybe a sly lil puff, plenty of beers, maybe a bean... but seriously it's like a marathon skankin all night thru till morning, and i wouldn't be runnin a marathon stoned out my brain...
shit effects everyone differently so theres no need to tell other people whats right and wrong

yeah but it can still be about the music with drugs alongside, people being on drugs doesn't take away from the importance of the music, as afterall a night wouldn't be anything without the tunes
anyway my basic overall view of it is that its enjoyed whilst completely sober as well as monged out of it on something, just depends on whether i feel like taking summat or just having a few beers or sometimes none o that
Truth.. I used to go to raves to get as fucked up as my pocket would allow me to.. end the night puddled in some corner at 12 noon at some random afterhours... dubstep isnt THAT to me... but deff.... to each their own.
fyi: if one ever comes up the the licks.. fix it with a dab of vanilla.

apparently if you inject it into your muscles it's best/worst (depending on your way of looking at it)
That's not really the concern with this thread, at least not mine. It's more about not linking dubstep with drugs in the eyes of those who aren't directly familiar with the 'scene'. Because in reality it's not a 'druggy' scene and that's one of the good things about it in my view, drugs are not the focus of dubstep raves.

Good job journalists always check their facts then isn't it?
I'm not overly concerned about it really, just explaining why I think it matters what impression is given. Dubstep is in the media spotlight right now and other related music scenes have had problems with adverse and inaccurate publicity.

it's a people tranquilizer too. they still use it in ambulances in situations where the patient needs to be tranquilized whilst staying awake - where rendering them unconscious will be fatal
