Don't you think this board skin is a bit naff?

Post by utrix » Mon Apr 17, 2006 8:02 pm

'Hate' to come across as 'negative' but don't you think a better skin would do this place some justice?
Even attract more lovely folk to join, possibly? Dunno, default skins just make me wanna self combust.

yummy:

Its fine really. Doesnt need to be anymore than functional.

Allow those skins you put up mate, cater more for a personal taste dont you think?

Dunno mate. I thought I did put up a variety of skin styles because I did have that in mind. Extreme pixels don't have that many skins anyway.

I'm just looking at this from a psychological point of view. You don't get people joining the Ferrari motor club, or people buying the latest garments for their functional ability, do you? those were poor examples, but you get what I'm saying. Iv'e always put art and music together, considering music is an artform it self. When I buy a pile of records, I'm always in hope that the cover artwork is quality. Much like when I surf music sites online, I love seeing cool design and artwork for the site.

Obviously my opinion is rendered useless unless the majority of members agree, which doesn't look the case. It's not major important, more so it would just be 'nice', that's all. 8)

But at the same time dubstep dont appeal to one particular type of person though in the way that ferrari's do. There are certain characteristics of ferrari drivers that the company knows about and can appeal to within its advertising/website. the same is not applicable for dubstep- let people listen to the music make there decison that way, then come here to chat bout it.

Better to have a boring skin that no one can have trouble with I think.

standard! the last thing we need is fancy pants designers trying to design everything they look at. 95% of the time the easiest option works best. we're not trying to be trendy and we certainly don't want to be the "cool" forum. music first, design/trends second.

a different color scheme would be nice... I don't need any additions though.
