I like the wobble myself. I mean I like all sorts of dubstep. Tune is a tune. I don't consider any dubstep to be "clowny" though. I think the the tempo of dnb makes the wobble clowny. I can't imagine clowns dancing around to dubstep.

jesus... funny how shit can change

*edit* I mean I guess I can see how -- if you've been hearing this track out every weekend since the summer (it blew up what like since last May?) then the novelty effect is gone -- and yes it might be a signal to exit the floor and catch a refill --- but the general sway of opinion on this board is startling --- most talked about tune goes to most loathed tune in a matter of a season's passing?

I don't download mixes or even end up at that many nights. I would have thought that was quite a good way of avoiding overplaying tunes so that you're bored of them by the time they come out, but in reality a lot of these tunes bore me within 10 seconds of the needle hitting the record. When I turn that deck off it's not a call for a reload, it's just telling you to stop.
Hmm....

even the wobbliest track by The Others/Caspa/whoeva is still funky as fuck, most dnb wobblers are just 180bpm twatcore with absolutely zero soul. At 140 bpm theres alot of room to breathe and there always will be.......
best thing iv heard on 1 of these threads

Can some1 please post a list of a few so called clowny tunes please? Coz i really dont know quite what your moaning about. I hear people sayin why are you maoning, then other peps replying saying well this is a forum thats what its for expresing your opinon/thoughts and shit. Well i Dissagree to an extent, Yes this is a fourm and yes people post threads and Talk amoungst each other. But i mean i have only been a member here for a short while and all i seem to be reading is a hell of a lot of people bitching and moaning. Surely forums are not here for those purposes?? I thought it was surposed to be more of a friendly comunity where people come together and chat. I.E this is a Dubstep Forum, so why not chat about the good points about tunes, release dates, artisit appretiations and how Great you think a certain tune/producer is and so on, How about a few happy threads in the Secret Ninja Hideout, instead of threads about the 10things you hate most about waiting for a peice of toast to cook and such haha. Lets make this a happy comunity Knock the maoning on the head, share happy thoughts, and last but not least if you wanna moan then moan at your cat or sumthin :P
PPS. moaners when u get the urge to moan smoke a joint or have a wank;) Large up Coki for Gangsta for life- Rollin now big money sound:D

If your not feeling the tracks, don't listen to them , go buy next man's records, its pretty simple, no point having a moan it's just waste.

the former gives me neuroses and the latter fills me with a sense of self-loathing, so it all comes back down to the forum.

Hold tight the moaning crew every time. If there wasn't a wobble in sight people would cry about the music being too 'insert adjective here'.

All about balance...

i think the whole dnb comparison isnt quite right, theres still a lot of variety in dubstep, so that if youre not feeling something thats only one tune rather than an entire set/night

what really fucks me off about dnb is that the music has no atmosphere anymore beyond 'wtf someone has remixed the theme song of a kids tv show at 180bpm'

so long as theres some kind of atmosphere or feeling in the tunes i don't give a fuck if it achieves that by going womwawomawomwawoma

i like loefah's its yours just as much as spongebob, to look down your nose at spongebob just because it has a different vibe to it is a bit silly. true i wouldnt want to hear several hours of carbon copy tunes with exactly the same beat/bass sounds as spongebob with the odd 'dora the explorer my first keyboard' C major scale and a bit of midrage over the top of it every few tunes, which is what dnb is like now, and i think thats where a lot of the backlash to the more crunk tunes comes from

There have been a LOT of these sorts of discussions on this forum recently. Damn, they're not even discussions, they're just people bitching.

Sure, a bit of chat about the scene and the music is a good thing and goes a long way - but seriously, do we need x amount of threads all saying 'wobble is shit', 'dubstep has got samey', 'dubstep is boring now' and so on?

The fact is, the scene has exploded in the last year. OF COURSE THE MUSIC WILL BE AFFECTED - for all the reasons that have already been stated by many others.

The trick is for each of us to take responsibility for making dubstep what we want it to be - as individuals. Dubstep belongs to all of us in different ways. We all hear it differently. We all have our own tastes.

What is stopping the complainers from searching harder for tunes that excite them? Or seeking out nights with interesting lineups (how many of you complainers have been to Platform 1 or DOTS?). Or even making your own tunes or putting your own nights on?

And before you say it, I'm not saying we all have to love everything that comes out and listen uncritically to dubstep. I'm just saying take a bit of responsibility and make dubstep what you want it to be rather than posting unhelpful threads on the forum.

This post isn't directed at any individuals in particular - I'm not calling anybody out. It's just a general statement.

Anyway.
its the same with dnb too. yeah theres alot of shit, but theres loads of wickid stuff too, if its too much hassle for you to look a little bit harder for the good stuff, then you cant have liked the music that much in the first place.

rewinds every FUCKING tune, even twice on the same tune and 'remixes' of classic dnb tunes are far more annoying IMO.

DMZ last sat every other fucking tune got rewound. the idea is to rewind the odd good one, a special tune that evryones feeling.. Get a flow going. Not standing there waiting for a nobend to start the record again. Every fucking tune. Diminishes the importance of them all. IMO etc blahblah

I can tolerate a million times more wobble than that.

I literally got fed up of it and left in the end. Bad vibes and fighting also didnt help.

Shame i loved a lot of the music. Lot of repetative one note subds too. Rather have a wobble than that.

I know noone really cares what i think. But there it is.

Think i might create ultra wobble. Now

a couple of isolated incidents. By and large very buzzing and friendlt. Sorry didnt want to give the bad impression of dmz, was 99.9% sound

just that tipped it. was more fed up with rewinds.

intros are the boring bits you generally mix. dont want tostand there to listen to it for 2 minutes twice.

sorry being extra negative today. dunno why. Completely true tho. Normally i dont bother moaning. Shame been looking forward to dmz for a long time. And the music itself was great. Is this a usual thing? I love tehcno and the constant flow with ebbs and peaks. Stopping the tune every 5 minutes drives me mad.

oh well.

Never mind.

Peace.

No no.....

All the DNB haterz in here.... I can see what everyone is saying about how DNB got split up and all.... you will not find many kids into dylan and tech itch at a liquid funk show....the ragga jungle cats won't play just regular DNB, the clownsteppas like pendulum, baron, twisted, and simon bassline only seem to play that type of shit, no variety......wtf.

That is kinda bullshit.... but I can find good records in ALL of these genres. Sure they may be few and far between, but they are there.

Also, cats like commix, breakage, and d bridge really seem to have a deep sound that kinda reminds me of dubstep. Also, breakage is doing dubstep as well as tech itch, and probably some others as well that I can't think of.

I still buy DNB, but I scour the genres and I don't give a rats ass what anybody else plays, and I sure as hell don't let a style pigeonhole me. My sets are diverse..... from old school hardstep, to dark, to jungle, ragga, tech step, liquid....sure it all has a name....but in the end, this will no doubt happen to dubstep..... the shit is inevitable. Have you ever heard of a music genre that didn't break up into subcatagories? I haven't.
