Sites/video's on Bassline Production?

Post by feasible_weasel » Sat Nov 10, 2007 12:49 am

:D its seems that for baselines technicality drum n bass and uk garage were very developed. after listening to uk garage, i feel i need to know how to make good baselines, and not just a wobble.
if anybody has sites on how to make 2step/4x4 using baselines etc. i would be really grateful..

You learn how to make a good bassline by making a bunch of bad ones first.

maybe find a preset that is somewhat close and study it's makeup....

I'm a slow learner and it's taken me forever to understand sound wavs/synthesis....still learning.

run your subtractor through the scream on the tape setting, adjust the knobs to taste, makes any bassline tastier.

don't be afraid to export your bassline and resample.

bass is the funnest.. weasel if it sounds high pitched, go down a couple octaves....

lots of the time i'll just start a bass with a sine wave in a low octave, i'm no expert tho... still learning all about synthesis, so much fun when you find something new...

tut videos have never really me helped much, they've just shown me how to do a particular thing... to really get it i think you just gotta fudge around your synth yourself and find out how each knob/effect/whatever effects the sound so you can eventually create exactly what you want to hear
