DMZ... your thoughts...

Post by phoze'l » Sun Nov 06, 2005 4:04 pm

Got there @ 11.30, caught last 30 mins of Heny, played a sick set with sick beats, proper feeling his new beats!

D1 steps up, and u know when D1 does anything its gonna be BIG! And believe me it was BIG! Although some knobhead was jumping around like a pratt puttin D off, it didnt mess up his performance!

Mala b2b Loefah is always gruesome! Played all the fresh shit and some of the releases, always mind blowing!

Caught 1st 15 mins of Skream, intro tune was DISGUSTING! He was telling me bout it a while ago, didnt think it wud be that heavy though...

Tune for me on the night has to be though....

D1 - Not Alone (I think was da name of it) Any1 know what the orig was, I cant remember it! BIG UP!

Great night.
I was impressed with Heny too. I thought he did himself proud.
D1 was great too. If you're on about that same tune I'm thinking of it was a proper growler!
Lo and Mala...say no more. Every tune's a classic.
Skream was eccentric! Just when you think he's losing the plot he pulls out a banger. The guy's got raw talent. Good on him!
Cyrus started well but when everyone started to leave it killed the atmosphere. What is it with everyone? Before the DMZ nights started we were crying out for proper raves with a decent sound system. Now it seems that people take it for granted. Maybe it's just me, but I reckon that the whole night's worth sticking around for. Still, big up the stamina gang!
To be honest, I wasn't expecting that I'd be mad keen on Hotflush, but they played a properly heavy set and I really enjoyed it. It's just a shame they were playing to an empty dancefloor.
Crazy D was Crazy D....you know what he dizzles! The man's a legend in my book. Again though, it's hard to vibe up the place when everyone's leaving. Sgt Pokes proved a proper host too. Thanks for the shouts Pokes, you're giving Skull Disco plenty support.
All in all. Another top night. Looking forward to the next one. And I'm really pleased to see Distance getting his turn too.

I wasn't there cos I was ill, but I do tend to get knackered sometimes at night clubs - Have ended up dozing off on a sofa whilst ear splitting gabber was on!

So don't be too hard on peeps leaving at 4am, some people are just pussies at times...

it was a quality night..

my tune of the night was the penultimate Mystikz/Loefah tune, the one which was pretty much just drums and pure dread bass..

I am still recovering. What a sick night. Pure vibes and bass. Some crisssss gyal in there too.

saturday was another storming dance full of nice and decent people (as Sgt Pokes). All year they have provided heavy dances... I can only class them as a land mark. Inspirational stuff.

massive props to DMZ everytime

:D roll on the next one

Yeah big nite as always - shame you both didn't make it 7below and Deesh - next time!!

btw the 'you're not alone' acapella (if it was an acapella - or remix..), was originally by Olive.

Nice to hear a bit of female vocals in the mix with the dark basslines - went really well I thought - different, and brave.
