SCORN - STEALTH album out now! [CLIPS INSIDE!!!]

Post by ohm resistance » Tue Nov 13, 2007 6:22 pm

Image

After 4 years of silence, Mick Harris has created the slowest, darkest, and most hostile SCORN album to date. One of the originators of slow, beat driven music, SCORN's new album is 8 tracks of nightmare dubstep - pushing the lows, the sparse beat structure, and the elements forming the nightmare just below the surface.

Post up the banner, show your support, and pick up the album - hard copy CD and vinyl now in shops everywhere, digital release to follow shortly.

next level
Suddenly, there was a terrible roar all around us, and the sky was full with what looked like huge bats, all swooping and screeching and diving around the car, and a voice was screaming:
Holy Jesus. What are these goddamn animals?

OH NOES...I DONT SEE ANY OF THE DUBSTEP MAFIA COMING IN AND BIGGING THIS UP...MAYBE THEYRE HAVING TO WAIT FOR THE SEMEN CELLS TO RE-GENERATE AFTER THE BURIAL RELEASE OR maybe they wont big it up at all coz its not part of the arse licking sphere theyve settled into.

This album is worth at least 2 entire dubstep scenes.

Might well be album of the year business... would not surprise me at all...

Big up Mick & everyone involved with this one!!!

Are any NYC shops stocking this? I looked for it at Other Music last night but didn't see it.

Other Music will probably have it in by next week - it just went on Darla's list this week, and they probably don't overnight ship order from Cali (where Darla is based...)

Kim's Music in NYC will have it as well, if not the Virgin stores.

Cool I'll try and be patient for another week. I've waited this long for it, after all. Scorn roolz.

for NYC people - Mick will be here in January from the 7-13. Moldy and I will throw a Lurkey party with him as the headlining artist - a rare Scorn performance. Mick really wants to do it, it's the matter of finding the right venue. We're on the hunt right now, so, just be aware that sometime during that time period, Scorn will play NYC.

This showed up on emusic yesterday (in North America, at least).

First listen didn't do too much for me but this time around it's hitting me a lot harder (had the same experience with Cyrus's From the Shadows, come to think of it). Definitely a strong dubstep feel to this, dark and heavy. Still recognizably Scorn, though.

Funny that you mentioned From The Shadows - I got that from Pinch when he and Distance played the first Lurkery we threw, and it similarly took me a bit to get into - but then when I put it on in a car with a rocking system, it blew me away.

The ones on the Scorn album for me are the odd numbered tracks - Stripped Back Hinge, Glugged (huge!), Snag, and Enough to Hold Bottom. They're all good but those ones really make it happen for me.
