he pitches down the 'you' in Archangel wayyy more i'd say??
I can't explain why it jars me more on the near dark sample

Also I don't want to argue about pitch, its like wanking about architecture or whatever that phrase is that someone always trots out at this point

whatever you do, do not hire Costello Architechts to design your recording studio.

No offense at all to the mods but I don't see the point of censoring sample talk. The source is very obvious on many of the vocal samples! Especially the rnb ones. I think if he were scared about people recognizing them, he'd have made them more unrecognizable. :P

damn, those are some big samples. very risky. i hope the majors don't catch wind of it. a man could lose everything getting sued by the original copyright owners, and the album would instantly go out of print.

Word, still cant see the problem, we dont even know which moves they did to use those samples! i dont want to feel like i have spent my money on something "illegal".

nah the owners would only be entitled to royalties, so no-one would lose their house over the matter. but given the sales of the 1st album its a more sizable target than most.

only royalties? i wish it were that simple. the original owners of the sampled music could do a lot worse if they wanted. first step would be to put a halt on all production and sales of the album. that in and of itself is less than ideal for a young new artist getting tons of press.

i doubt hyperdub ever cleared those samples, but they are still totally liable. with the majors hemorrhaging money, they are going after smaller and smaller fish for legal action and money.

none taken, but it's only that by doing so you spider the associations into search engines. all record companies do random searching of their artists, and by having it up here in a connect-the-dots- manner, it's certainly not helping hyperdub at all.

our interests are to help out the labels in this scene and not play sherlock holmes in minutiae about every detail and every tune.

the internet is permanent now. it's being archived every 48hrs. if a person knows what the sample is, what's the need to broadcast it? is it to make people feel smart on the internet? i don't get it, and i never will.

Goes much deeper than that: someone owns the picture, someone owns the script, someone owns the voice talent, someone owns the rights to release soundtrack/clips, possibly different people/companies in different territories...all need to give clearance, all want money. If they do get wind of it, they'll pull the lp immediately, no mistake.
