the scene needs more people with their own unique, vision like sam. but tbh this isn't just dubstep, most scenes need this.

in essence amost all the production pioneers in the scene seem to think like this, it allows them to find new directions and ideas. as soon as you say 'i make dubstep and it's made in this way' you'll start to stop finding new ideas.
