Was really not very impressed with the way last night was run to be honest. Got there at 11 after having booked tickets only to be stuck in what was apparently a "queue" for over two hours. You could see the paying queue being let in whilst those who paid beforehand were kept waiting in another queue that disintegrated into a giant ruck. Bare dickheads pushing turned things a bit sour and really ruined the vibe for a lot of people. I feel genuinely sorry for the smaller guys/girls because things must have been really uncomfortable for them in the ruckus outside. There were at least three hundred people outside rushing the door and no bouncers outside to ensure that things had any order. I know the venue was big, but if FWD can't find staff a warehouse party of that magnitude then they shouldn't run a night like that. They jeopardised the safety of a lot of regular FWD heads and left the impression that they only gave a fuck about your ten quid.
One inside it was good though. Room 1 was too rammed so spent the night in room 2, there were some technical problems with the sound but when it got going it was really weighty, arguably more so than at plastic people. Allow paying three quid for a drinks token only to get to the bar to find they don't have any vodka/whisky/rum. Only really saw Distance and Kode9 but they were both sick- Kode finishing the night with "Da Base II Dark" was the highlight for me. It was safe to able to blaze too.

No offence, but its the dickheads like you who ruined a lot of people's nighti remember ending up back in the queue for TIME and shouting "JUST PUSH" at everyone
Heard those sentiments a lot last night and totally agree. I won't pay 10 quid to be treated like shit, whatever the line up/venue/soundsystemmy first fwd since the smoking ban, i will not be returning again
i get one friday a week, and to be fucked around like that.... well... it aint on

well just reading these brief rewiews i think it was a good idea i didn't go. i was feeling really tired whilst sat in the Barly Mow and the thought of a queue was just pissing me off. Quite good forsight of my part I think.

Two VERY LOUD rooms! A struggle to get in, with lots of disruptions outside over who have tickets and who dont.
BUT....in fairness to FWD; they advertised to 'by-tickets' in advance, everyone now knows it wasnt 'promoters spill to sell advances'......its to guarantee you get in.
Spread across two rooms, both systems pounded!
Distance smashed it!

Rocked up at about 11:45...couldn't work out where to queue as I had booked tickets and there were no security outside sorting people out...fair enough if its a real warehouse rave but there was nothing particulalrly illegal about this as far as I could work out, so I don't think there is much of an excuse.
Went to see Oliver Ho at Plastic People for a couple of hours and came back at 2...finally got in after hanging around for a bit and having to listen to some mouthy bird who claimed she was from the Metro (paper) trying to get in...the door was having none of it. Was good for about 45 mins but then things wound up at 3...looked a really cool venue was a bit annoyed I didn't get to spend more time in there.
Thought it could have been better organised...I've been going to fwd for a few years now and felt a bit like they didn't really care about people who had made the effort to sort their Friday night out instead of random Shoreditch dicks who just read about it in Time Out or the fucking London Paper. Still thats the way things go sometimes I guess.
Hope the guys who rolled down to Dirty Canvas enjoyed it.

Fuck waiting for two hours in the freezing cold while people without tickets get let in. 1000 people paying a tenner a head and what can't have been more than three door staff or something? Crazy. I get the impression it was more of a plastic people fuck up than a fwd>> fuck up but still.
It also felt like a dubstep sight seeing tour for public school boys and shoreditch twats, presumably attracted by the promise of a Time Out endorsed 'secret warehouse party', but that's another thing altogether.
from what i saw and what Ade said it was the jokers trying to get in who hadn't booked that were causing the issue, it was him alone trying to get ticket holders in while getting abuse from pricks who wanted to pay in, how hard is it to buy a ticket in advance???? Two queues, one getting more rowdy and abusive (guess which one), and Ade trying to hold it together = nightmare for all concerned. I didn't see any payers getting in before ticket holders when I got in at midnight, I did see/hear a load of wankers getting aggressive with the organisers though which i found pretty annoying, if you've paid already you have a case if you haven't then fuck off and wait.
Inside it was really good, Benga b2b Mala was ridiculous, just hope not too many couldn't get in as I heard it got a lot worse after midnight outside.

Yeah, fair point. But i do know, most priority was ticket holders, as i queued for "an embarrasing amount of time" without a ticket, and was right by he door all along.metalboxproducts wrote:According the the person up thread people with tickets were still queuing whilst pay on the door folks were getting in before them.DARKSIDE wrote:Two VERY LOUD rooms! it's the security's job to sort out the queue. obviously that can't happen if you employ less people than is necessary. there wasn't even a queue barrier for fucks sake with absolutely no one actually taking the time to sort out the people who had tickets from the people who didn't and no one taking the time to sort out the confusion...ctop80 wrote:from what i saw and what Ade said it was the jokers trying to get in who hadn't booked that were causing the issue, it was him alone trying to get ticket holders in while getting abuse from pricks who wanted to pay in, how hard is it to buy a ticket in advance????
I'd like my £10 back but I doubt that'll happen...
