akai mpd24 with reason 3

Yo, i've just been to New Yoik, and brought a mpd24 and i am running reason on my macbook. I can use the all the knobs and buttons to control the mixer etc but the pads arnt working! any 1 no how i can use it to control the redrum or nnxt?

this is most likely a midi channel issue

find out what midi channel the 24 outputs on and then ensure your reason device is communicating on the same midi channel

Hit up the akai website where i think they've got more preset maps for reason.

you can use the knobs but not the pads probably because you set it up as a midi controller and not a midi keyboard.

set up as keyboard because the pads correspond with keys. Then if its anything like my MPD16, you will need to open the mpd editor and change the pads keys sequentially as they are mapped assuming your going to be using GM drum maps.
