Audio is sorely neglected by most game developers and even fewer have nailed bringing in licensed tracks correctly.
We are using a lot more songs in advertising (plug plug plug

irony is a dead scene

A mate I used to play Sunday Football with worked as a developer for Sony in their London office - he had a lot to do with the Killzone game and I know people in his office were working on The Getaway 3 for PS3.
I was constantly on his case to let me speak with the Getaway guys about getting Rinse FM on in the car radios a bit like the GTA radio stations have different shows to listen to.
He was pretty sure they'd be up for talking to me about getting the pirate radio in the cars and was also optimistic about them writing a pirate radio based storyline into one of the levels / missions.
Unfortunately the team folded and I lost my phone so until his face pops up somewhere like Facebook I'll have to forget about that for a while!!!
I know some dubstep producers have been comissioned to do a tune for a big video game but I don't want to mention any names incase its supposed to be secret. Its only a matter of time though before you hear it in all kinds of games!

Plasticman, that's large, can you tell us what game it is at least so we can keep an eye for it?
Computer game sound design is where I want to end up in life if I follow the music career path. But it's such a ridiculously hard genre to get into, the competition is so high. I got more chance of coming out on DMZ than working on games!

Like P said, a few guys have been approached, you'll hear some tracks popping up in games next year for sure!!
Getaway or GTA with while driving around to Rinse would be creme.
