Tunes wise we're almost there, we just need some good promotions esp in Notts where I am atm.Thump Rat wrote:I can see a renaissance period with Dnb, taking back the aesthetic of the Jungle days, and what dubstep is currently (or was 2005 era). People like Lomax, Commix, Breakage and Lynx are making minimal but bassy tunes.

Year all the above, better check that D-Bridge 12 - got most of the early catalogue, same with Soul:R (& Subs) but that all stopped after I got the Dubstep bug - we just need more nights promoting the good shit in Jungle.

I only really like Atmospheric DnB, and the more musical side to DnB, I think all the other stuff is one big long competition of "who can make the most noise".
For me it's Modemellow, PBK, Drum Origins, Skeema, Future Engineers, Electrosoul System, Logistics, Nu Moon, Makoto, JCB, Tidal, Orange n Blue, etc.

I know his name's been all over this thread, but have you checked out Fanu's stuff (eg at http://www.fanumusic.com/mixes/index.php)? To me, tunes like Leave the Natural World Behind pretty much define 'atmospheric DnB.'Future Producer wrote:I only really like Atmospheric DnB, and the more musical side to DnB, I think all the other stuff is one big long competition of "who can make the most noise".

3 things I miss most from the UK... swede, cider and the music scene!

Capital J
DJ Craze
