next day delivery is fucking live destructive

and you could easily have sold these one at a time and made £20 quid a copy but you sold them at their original price - that's righteous

can't believe i've now got the mighty DIBBLE on vinyl, not to mention END OF LINE oh my days what a tune....

BIG UP DESTRUCTIVE

As much as I love and respect dubstep/grime or whatever you want to call it, I don't think this release is a good introduction to the true potential of the scene. I listened to this in the record shop and it just didn't gel with me at all. I'd much rather save my pennies and get 2 singles of the highest quality rather than an album full of what I would call below par offerings from a selection of the scenes brightest producers.
What you have on this LP is a selection of breakbeat tracks that sound like slowed down drum n bass with little emphasis on experimentation; which I would consider to be a key component on 9/10 dubstep releases that I have bought in the last 2 years.
With the likes of Vex'd, Search & Destroy and DJ Distance, to name but a few who feature on this compilation, it seems criminal that the feeling I have when I listen to this is the same feeling I get when I nod off at the same lumbering efforts that come out of break stables like Botchit & Scarper - yes it's heavy bass and choppy breaks, but it's stale and directionless. Whereas when I listen to Distance's thundering half-time behemoth 'Nomad' on Hot Flush, or the gun saw mechanics of 'Pop Pop' by Vex'd or the squelchy bass assault of 'Desperate Measures' by Search & Destroy on Storming Productions, I immediately think "fresh", "innovative" or "fuck me!".
Hopefully those who have bought this will go onto buy more from this scene regardless of the mediocre tunes on this release, because you'd be mad not to.
his opinion yes, but i tend to disagree with it.
i have enjoyed many of these tunes for a good while now.

sorry mate, i thought you meant the main blurb about it.

as to his opinion it aint mine either, yeah they are low and subtle and moody, i reckon Our Sound works really well as a collective and some of the producers make more 'dancefloor' singles than the ones on this compilation. i guess thats why it didnt appeal to him as much

bambam store? I noticed it there for weeks so when he started the clearout sales i thought lets buy every copy of his dubstep records (not that many - seemed like a good deal) but only some D1's were left.

i was thinking about that when i saw this topic.
