nan-desu ka means - what is that?

but in japanese u can put 'yo' at the beginning or end of sentance to draw someones attention, or to emphasise

'nan de' and 'nan desu' are abbreviations of nan desu ka and can mean just what or why, but the way he says 'yo' between desu and ka makes me laugh man

That's the one. He also said that you can say genki-yo as a reply to mean 'i am fine' but with the yo expressing added 'fineness'

Japanese is dope.
