Dont think Goldie did any of his mixdowns bro!
It was the 4-Hero boys and then Rob Playford doin his engineering back then.

Yeah I love gettin lean in the studio and vibin out. But it does slow me down at times... hard to know when its helpin and when its hindering. Best is to have a good sesh sober, and then bill one up when you've done a good bit of work. You just gotta know when NOT to be lean.

Yeah I heard that too - was just makin the point that he was more of an ideas and inspiration guy than an engineer. I remember some interview where he was describing how he designed Terminator to get ravers rushing hard

Didn't Rob Playford get sacked for laughing at Goldie singing that tune about his mother off his second album?

Unavoidable I'd have thought
Hmm....

Rob Playford and Pete Parsons between them are for me, the most important figures in jungle, ever :D Although I didn't know it at the time, it was the stuff they engineered that got me into jungle in the first place.

U know that
Killer combination, Goldie's crazy visions + a wicked engineer.

Those times were all about pushing your equipment to the limit, very creative and formative time.

Some archives up in here lol.

I used to smoke cigs in the studio but I quit that when I bought my own house. Keeps me from chaining them and it is nice to just walk away from production for a minute to refocus. I always come up with ideas while I am outside. Smoke dope in the studio yeah but I never have any unfort.

i smoked alot of cigs in my life and never really got pleasure from it.

weed on the other hand

loving making beats after my first weed smoking session of the day. especially if you have already been on the buttons for a few hours before this. you can just totally come into things with a new mindset, not only that all the sounds sound alot cooler and more interesting! so do little riffs /melodies

i dont smoke much weed anymore...but there were a few random times I found myself high while writing a beat...it's too much to handle. basic shit becomes complicated...and I get to content listening to an 8 bar loop over and over again thinking "shiiiiiiiit this is sick!"

Don't blaze IN the studio (mum wouldn't be too pleased). But I do enjoy going out for a zoot every now and then when producing.
