DubWar 5 Report, How did it all Go?

Drove down to the city for this and another show and was very impressed by the professionalism and quality of the music. Dave Q's last minute reorganizing was stunning, the vibe in the place was pure enthusiasm, there was palpable excitement throughout the evening. Caught Moldy, Dave Q, Loefah, and Joe Nice, all of whom represented the sound with class and musicality (it was my first time seeing Loefah and Moldy). The organizers of the event have a lot to be proud of, and dubstep internationally is lucky to have people like Dave, Joe, Seckle, Moldy, and the rest of the nyc crew. Great work, folks. Momentum definitely seems to continue to build . . .

Dude... one of the best nights I've ever spent out in my life. To think, I play this music all the time, and had never fully experienced it like that.

Sets from the beginning to the very last fucking moment(and then even when the bouncers are trying to physically shut the shit down at 5am)... HOLY HELL!

I don't wanna play favorites, but Moldy fucking took us from arms folded "come on an show me something" stances, to full on windmill action. Fucking HUGE dubs from that man on the way. OMG!

I'll get more in depth on the review tomorrow, I've now been up for basically 3 days, drinking and partying in NY... fucking HUGE. Can't even wait for the next one.

oh, and that shit was ILL!!! Loefah signed my ipod. when I asked him for a sig, he looked confused, like I guess he hadn't ever been asked for an autograph before. Being able to talk to your favorite producer/dj one on one like a regular person was quite a cool experience, so many other DJs in other generes act so aloof.

I really liked the faces the people who weren't down made once they came into the room, it was priceless.

It's been a VEEEEEEEEEEEERY long time since I've given a shit when a DJ/MC came to town. I haven't had anything to be excited about in a VERY long time. Not only where they ill on dex and mic, but they were chill as fuck. No ego. Playing in a little 8'x8' space... which is... uh. 2.5 meters? I have no clue.

THEN, they were all about the chillin later. I wish Americans, or anyone for that matter, would take note. I couldn't believe what I witnessed. I can still feel the rumble, man.

They gave me a few leasons on the lingo. Had nuff stories... had I just been someone who wasn't aware of what dubstep was, I'd still probably be impressed as hell with those guys. God knows that the Saprano's kru and the Jett Li posse were all about Dubstep.

I just slept for like 14 hours, and I still need more. I couldn't even walk upstairs to my room, so I slept on my couch... I could barely lift my legs to lay on that.

I can't even begin to thank you all, promotor and club goer alike--made not just my day or weekend, but my life... best show EVER.

discussion has kinda died down on this thread but i'd like to say belatedly,


heavy, heavy night(s)... everything is a debauched haze. it was fuckin good to witness the dmz sound tearing the club up. loefah absolutely smacked it, filthy set and bad tunes! the drop in ruffage is disgusting (!! ) 3rd choice rmx-- ridiculous! hearing pokes on the mic was exactly right.

joenice was on point as usual.. good to hear him reppin all four corners of the sound. unfortunately i was already wrecked after loe's set i could barely move . opening up with electric avenue raised a few british eyebrows ;)

dq killed it! juakali delivered good vibes all the way thru. respect to moldy as well who dropped some big tunes.
