the tv show is jokes too.

should be an interesting fight.
i think hatton will hold strong for say 5-6 rounds.
and then floyd's style will win the fight overall.

i think theres a good probability hatton will throw himself out at some point and find it hard to recover.

i wish i could afford to watch it :D

You know the deal mate.

I've got good odds on Hatton to pull off a KO in the 6th - I can't see him having the energy to beat Mayweather after that; he's not a late round fighter, it's quick KOs and openers. Mayweather has that level of technicality that's seen fighters like Lennox Lewis through their careers, and I reckon he's got Hatton on stamina.

I boxed at an ABC for a bit, so for me it's harder to put my backing on Hatton purely because he's a British bloke. For the love of the sport, and all that!

I really hope Hatton wins. Tyson had more personality than this Mayweather prick. I hoping for a debilitating body shot in round 8, i want to see Floyd cry for his mummy.
Anyone know what time the actual fighting starts and can i pay for Sky Box office through Virgin Cable?

Hatton is a cool cookie, I couldnt have held it down whilst Mayweather was dishing out the arrogance right in front of my 'boat' :!:

Hatton will rattle his cage bigtime, no k-o's but will be an amazing fight.

God that Floyd chap is a cock. I'm not mad on boxing but I hope Hatton hammers him.

It's about time someone brought this up. Hatton is going to lose this fight. He's an explosive body puncher, but he's not in Mayweather's league.

Hatton doesn't like to move around a lot, but he does move his head -- which will count for something.

Does anyone remember the Mayweather - Gatti fight?

From round 2 - 6, it was Mayweather landing explosive left hooks to the body and right hand leads to Gatti's face. I'd expect more of the same with the Hatton fight this weekend.

The fight i'm most excited about (it was announced this week) -- the long-awaited rematch between JM Marquez and Manny Pacquaio. March 15, 2007. Read this post about the first fight.

Any thoughts on the Vargas - Mayorga fight from 2 weeks ago? Might be the fight of the year.

That Pacquaio fight is going to be immense. The last fight was top quality entertainment. :D

although i think Mayweather is technically a better boxer, Hatton is for sure the better scrapper and i'd say hes got a lot more heart in this than Pretty Boy......Unfortunately i'm not sure it'll be enough

But i'd love Ricky to knock that loud mouth pillock to next sunday - or at the very least knock him on his ass so he can't go on about how hes never hit the canvas

saturday =
dinner......drinks.... Khan..... drinks.... (maybe a nap, then) drinks.... Hatton... (then hopefully drinks but probably just) sleep

When i see these fights, i like to look at the fighter's competition.

Here's HATTON's fights.
His best opponent -- JL Castillo -- and it's not the Castillo from 2 years ago, let alone 5 years ago, when he and Diego Corrales were the best 130 lb fighters in the sport.

SIDE NOTE: There are certain fights that you never recover from, even though you fight on. the battle forces you to leave a piece of you in the ring. There have been several of these fights since 2000 -- the slugfests that shorten your career and extend your stay in a hospital.

Micky Ward v Emanuel Augustus

Barrera v Morales (the trilogy)

Gatti v Ward (the trilogy) The 9th round is still the greatest round in the history of boxing.

James Toney v Vassiliy Jirov.

and the ultimate slugfest:
Diego Corrales (God, rest his soul) v Jose Luis Castillo I
if you need proof of the final round of this fight, GO HERE. Brings me to tears everytime i see it.

Hatton fought Castillo after that legendary slugfest.
PBF -- fought a better Castillo and had to fight him twice.

Here's MAYWEATHER's fights.

Those are a list of the fighters PBF has fought before he fought the "good Castillo" i.e. - before he ran into Corrales.

Oscar De La Hoya
Carlos Manuel Baldomir
Zab Judah
Sharmba Mitchell
Arturo Gatti
Henry Bruseles
DeMarcus Corley
Phillip N'dou
Victoriano Sosa

He also knocked Corrales down 5 times in their fight.

The point i'm trying to make.....PBF has fought better competition. He's also more skilled. He wins this fight. Easily.........
