some things are best left as they are
by remixing that tune you can only really make it less good.

edit: my last post sounded pretty harsh looking back -
Not that i dont like the remix, but i just dont think that tune really needs remixing - liking the skills tho. biggup.

doesn't surprise me as they've built their whole reputation on co-opting other's work and reselling it to fabulous downtown trend-hoppers... from baile funk to booty music to now... burial?

Fair play, burial remix getting played out is no bad thing, because he is really too ambient to be danceable.

Of course it don't have to be as good as original.

How are the drums not on time? It uses a straight forward 2step-swing that goes easily with any 2step tune.

he confirmed that in the first ever interview and I don't think he ran to a shop to get a sequencer after the first album's success. the drum patterns don't sound any less distorted in the new album to me. anyway, I guess djs just notice it's tricky to beatmatch his tunes even if they haven't read the interview. but here you go... Yeah, I mean that goes for all 2-step really, given the different amounts of shuffle and different types of syncopation.

I don't get this attitude, Burial has a lot of danceable tunes, South London Boroughs has more energy than loads of tracks i've heard. Burial's tunes have so much rhythm its hard to dance when you hear them for me.

It's the fact that it is so skittery and swung that gives it that feel i find, excessively quantised 4x4, particularly without much hat action going on strips a tune of its energy i tend to find.

And as for burial saying his tunes would be shit with a sequencer, he kinda proved himself wrong with Unite didn't he?
