How is that even possible?Bruno Belluomini wrote:Records being released too fast?
And it's not really true that records well out in a week, but a quick look at any record shop will show you that runs of 1500 (if that number is accurate) certainly don't go that fast. DMZ007 has been around for 7 weeks or something and is still in stock at loads of places.

when ur thinking of investing £800 into putting ur tune out its understandable to kinda wanna wait a while to try ensure you arent jus stocking racks in rec shops ,there is some demand growing for your tune and youll sell a run of 500...

In terms of 12" vinyl, dubstep is outselling grime quite easily nowadays.SPOOKY wrote:really?auralassassin wrote:I believe I heard from Loefah that there aren't many 500 press runs, that they are like 1500-2000 each time, which still sell out immediately

Grime doesn't get pressed so much because people download rather than buy.
Soul Jazz DMZs were pre's. I'm waiting for full release.
DMZs do 1500-2000 minimum. There have been some represses. I would imagine there's a working capital issue -- do you press a new tune and build your rep or re-press an old one. Esp when profits on selling 2000 vinyl records is miniscule.
Bleep releases are the last release because it kills vinyl sales and the cash generated is fairly minor.
