Notes:
Second Night of Portishead performing at All Tomorrow's Parties.
Both shows had identical set lists. Five new songs
were performed (Wicca, Hunter, Mystic, Machine Gun, and Peaches), most
having a much stronger rythmic feel than most of their past work. Andy
played drums or percussion on all the new songs - none included any
turntable.
New song titles are from a set-list that was thrown into the audience
by one of the stage-hands after the show. No set-lists were given out
after the first show, but I have confirmed the set-lists are the same.

I was there!! It was exactly as they have written in Pitchfork:Kate... wrote:I was so excited when I saw they had gotten back together and played in that little pub on youtube. I'm so glad they're back at it, they are brilliant.
"After a couple of hours [spinning] eclectic sadcore classics from the likes of Tom Waits and Joy Division," wrote the reader, "Geoff and...Adrian Utley began to play 'Wandering Star'-- Geoff playing bass. A few bars in Geoff picked up the mike and asked 'Anyone here know how to sing?' At this point Beth walked on stage and started singing." Apparently even venue staff were unaware of the live gig, and the person working the door actually charged Gibbons entry.
( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AU17hJMHNE ) - I still get goosebumps when I watch this, it was definitely the deepest musical performance I have ever experienced live. me and my girlfriend were sitting on the stage drinking cider when Geoff and Adrian decided to play live. so we were like "we better stand up" and then Beth came along and I didn't really believe until it was finished

the new songs sound great imo, don't remember what was the other song they played in Mr Wolfs that night but I guess it might have been a stripped down acoustic version of Mystic (obviously the beatless part where Beth is singing)

Yeah ive been reading the Portishead message bored and evidently, they've swapped the decks for a analog synth?
Should be interesting but will Portishead be the same without the little scratches?
