I like Burial. What do I listen to next.

Post by fin666 » Sun Dec 23, 2007 3:54 am

Hey I cam upon this website randomly.

I listen to pretty much anything.

I've got both burial albums and think there wicked. Any suggestions on what else I should listen to???

(Doesn't have to be dubstep)

If you like Burial you could try Junior Boys - Last Exit. You might like it.

pinch, vex'd, skull disco and digital mystikz? Such a difference between every one of them and especially with these names and Burial. A bit more explanation is needed.

Burial has a definite style of his own, and there are almost no other artists that are comparable to his mood and style. If you are looking for stuff like his, however, I would be more inclined to direct you to a certain kind of dubstep, and that is the more atmospheric side of the genre. Although it is very possible that you'd like Digital Mystikz, Skream or Loefah, it makes more sense to start with producers like Vaccine, Scuba, Boxcutter and Gravious first. Also, if you want to take it outside of the dubstep box, I think Thom Yorke's solo album (the unremixed versions) are in mood ánd style almost more like Burial than Skream is, for example.

El-b time.

Werk discs do some wicked dark garage as well.

Or just keep listening to Burial.

well I think the closest there is to Burial is naturally Kode9 :)I'm not sure... but I would almost put the Kode9+SpaceApe album above the first Burial even... :? :?

on a more lofi vibe, i duno, but i always feel some of richie hawtins mixes have a lot of qualities like burial, some really dark and imaginative things by him, also his alter ego plastikman as well. also look for maybeshewill and also 65 daysofstatic, both instrumental bands, but use a lot of samples and interesting drum beats. But still vex'd and pinch have some stuff that really captures a picture like burials stuff. I duno really like someone said earlier he is really unique. But imo its quite moody, and interesting so just have a look across those.
