yeah but you're then limited to the amount of labels actually releasing mp3s, which means you're going to miss out on tons of releases....

i'm sceptical- a link to some more info on this please.
Trying to find the original article on this online, it's been a few years... took place in a thread on CDJ vs Vinyl

none the less, here is a BIT on the concept from TIME MAGAZINE:

http://www.time.com/time/magazine/artic ... -1,00.html

"That advice has long been out of fashion in a nation surfeited with material abundance, but now it may be on the verge of a comeback. At the height of its biggest boom, the U.S. seems almost to be based on an economy of scarcity. Shortages of an astounding variety of goods—fuel oil, nonferrous metals, wool, copper, cotton denims, vinyl records, plastic bottles, to name a few—are jacking up prices, interfering with production, and in some cases directly threatening American living standards."

vinyl and mp3s

Post by crises » Wed Jan 02, 2008 10:07 am

Vinyls are just like holding your girl or loved one (cant beat it), where as, mp3s are like that secret affair one might have when married after a fews years... lol

Personally, im in Love with the vinyl, been on it since my early teens, but i do sometimes share my passion with the mp3s.. Proves that bit cheaper when needed...

Max Respect to all Players of riddims.. Regardless of format..
As long as ears wonna hear it, Dj's will play it..

Spread the Bass>>

Peace,,

yeah that's hardly the same thing as a global vinyl ban in two years. couldn't find any info to support this. smacks to me of idle internet rumour not based in trurth. anybody else found any links to support this?

Well, in the oil starved future there will be huge 'thunderdrome' type arenas where djs battle for musical supremacy in roving tournaments around the post-apocolyptic wastelands that were once the US and Europe, with the losers being put to death... so it'll really be the same thing.
The winners would, of course, get the losers vinyl, which will be more valuble than gold.

The heavier the vinyl the better for me. Heavyweight sleeves too, load me up!
