Favourite Jungle?

Post by joe muggs » Sun Jan 06, 2008 11:32 pm

Reminiscin on another time. I've been listening to Photek ('Rings Around Saturn') and Hidden Agenda ('Fish Eggs') today.... but nothing beats:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LZs2MoBlUw - just wait for the bassdrop at c. 1:32!

Yeah man, Photeks 'Rings around Saturn' is ridiculous.
Also,

'Let it Roll' by DJ Crystl,
'Deep and Deadly Subs' by Dillinja
'Slave' by DJ Buz on No U turn

it was the drums that did it for me man.

That's probably my fave right there. Love the vox on this. They sound like they're going to trip over themselves any minute, but never do.

Shabba Ranks - Let's Get it On (Dillinja and Goldie Mix) - best £2 I ever spent :D

Undercover Agent - Dangerous - probably early dnb (96 I think) but still got the junglist vibes. Oh, and Dubstep Circles, same artist, same period, and best bassline ever.
Hmm....

It probably should. It could just be an itinerant thread though. Scroungers

Maybe you should tell a moderator, there's loads now.

Damn right. Mindweaver and love & hate by source direct are incredible. The way the amen comes in in mindweaver never fails to get me going.
12 till 4 by hokusai is my favourite jungle/drumfunk tune.
Jungle seems to be having a revival. People have just started rinsing out jungle sets at house parties and even better all jungle house parties!

I didn't realise how slow and breaky most jungle is compared to dnb until quite recently
