MENSA asked me to join but you have to pay. What do they think I am, stupid?
The Zeitgeist film is well done - they make a coherent case and avoid too much wild theorizing. It's seriously bleak though and I can't help feeling that without offering much in the way of hope or humour they are really not helping.
That Freeman fellow is worth paying attention to though. He's had some very eloquent, courageous and clued up people on that show. Of course it can all get a bit murky out there but that's the nature of our world and you have to think for yourself.

We've known about this for like years, the new conspiracies are all based on celebrities and opportunities for terror attacks, like what Bret Easton Ellis wrote about (his assassination soon come).
You ain't seen nothing if asked.

OMGWTFBBQ! They're everywhere!
The really interesting thing about all that theory stuff in the vid is that it according to these chaps all goes back to some kind of Satanic cult. That places whole whole theory within a Christian frame work that can its self be seen ,as a globe spanning religion, as a massive method of thought control with rituals etc etc etc. It's all a bit dogmatic innit?

Parson - a rational question for you;
do you belive in David Icke's "Reptilian" theory?
of all the theories on earth this is one of the most staggeringly ridiculous and as an intelligent man I would love to know if you believe that it is true or not.

i have never been able to pay attention to david icke so i am not intimate with his theories.
i do know that there is an elaborate UFO coverup. i do know that there are dozens of species of extraterrestrials interacting with this planet daily. i do know that there are humanoids among these varieties and the version of evolution being taught in schools is incomplete.
i also know that democracy is a charade and the most powerful people in the world are highly involved with ritualistic occult practices that they prefer to be kept secret.

yeah i've always wanted to know how they sell Scientology to you...I mean it's pretty common knowledge that it's a cult, and that they've got some pretty mental ideas about the origins of man, and yet thousands of people gladly sign most of their possessions over to them. They must have some sick salesmen working for them.

i was speaking to a conspiracy nut the other day and he seems to reckon all the reptilian shit is metaphorical.. that david icke actually means something else in his "teachings" when he talks about reptiles. who knows eh

this is the one i'm sickest of explaining. this is the most basic part of the story. there is more evidence for the aliens than there is for the north american union's existence. and yes i have had my own personal experiences. and yes i know lots of people who have. if you know anybody from phoenix arizona then you do too.

it's from the personality tests that they advertise - they do a 'life audit' and catch you that way.
"is a unique form of personal spiritual counseling which helps people look at their own existence and improves their ability to confront what they are and where they are.
Scientology auditing can bring any person from a condition of spiritual blindness to the brilliant joy of spiritual existence. "

the scientology "personality tests" are like gullibility tests. they are testing to see how susceptible you will be to their brainwashing techniques

ahh gotcha
i'd still love to know what it is they offer these people, though. surely it can't be as simple as 'pay us for eternal happiness'? nobody's that gullible are they?

It's got a lot going for it though if you're in that kind of position. On a non-conspiratorial level (although it is a conspiracy in the dictionary sense of the word) membership means you have a lot of other people in influential positions who're going to help you out and have your back so to speak. It doesn't mean they're out for world domination, and it doesn't mean they're any good but it would be reasonable that that could convince people to join.
A mate of mine is a 'friend' of Tom Cruise, they met when his wife did a film with Tom. He's said the guy is completely loopy, a compulsive liar, and has no friends to speak of (at his 40th birthday his agent did the speech which started "Tom has been a great client", nice). What he said was though that Scientology teaches you to completely overcome earthbound unhappiness and problems by essentially ignoring them and replacing real meaning in life with a manufactured belief system, so that nothing can get the guy down but it's almost as though he's not even living in the same world as anyone else. "Cruise is a machine" was the best quote to be honest.
