ive done loads of reading on the subject thanks, was pretty obsessed with it for a few weeks tbh. A story like the David Kelly one has credibility and some genuinly interesting evidence to support its theorys. I feel that after looking at some of the so called evidence for the aids conspiracy, 9/11 and aliens/humanoids, that its frankly laughable. So thats exactly what i domasstronaut wrote:Real conspiracies abound, history is the pretty much the history of conspiracy. The truth of events is very often not known at the time they occur. Ha ha. A couple of weeks versus people doing lifetime research? But the thing is I'm not talking about conspiracies that are still generally unacknowledged, I'm talking about ones that are well known and on record. Saying that there is no such thing as conspiracy is just inaccurate. Of course you can find some things that you find unbelievable, and those things may be incorrect, but you'd have to go much further to disprove everything that is being suggested.Bob Crunkhouse wrote:ive done loads of reading on the subject thanks, was pretty obsessed with it for a few weeks tbh. You have to ask yourself what it is that compels you to laugh at and insult the people who are trying to discover the truth rather than engage them in conversation.

I love it when threads like this pop up in the hideout, cos, while skeptical i am genuinely interested in people's beliefs about these things. Talking to Parson is usually interesting, cos he is obviously not a nut job, but also believes things most would consider weird, so it's good to hear from someone willing to argue these things in a more logical way than most.
Although when you say you "know" about aliens and stuff, how is that possible?
I'd agree about democracy being a sham, but soley for the reason that ticking a box on a sheet of paper once every seven years and deciding which group of politically and visually indistinguishable middle aged men in suits makes all the decisions has fuck all to do with people power.
As for the masons, a friend of mine's dad is one and he is a boring bastard, so if the world does turn out to be run by them i am not going to lose a lot of sleep.
And there was definitely something wrong with Dr Kelly's death, that I am fairly sure of, but would quite like to see that debunking video if possible

You could say that in a case like this the whole point of killing this man was to send a message to others who might be thinking about saying stuff they're not supposed to. So of course it's made apparent what has happened to him. Just saying.Bob Crunkhouse wrote:A story like the David Kelly one has credibility and some genuinly interesting evidence to support its theorys.
i also don't stand by people who aggressively mock muslims either and nod my head saying they've got pointParson wrote:i've done loads of reading on islam and have chosen not to believe in it.
i don't go into the faces of muslims however and aggressively mock them.

Various medical authorities swarm in and out of here predicting I have between two days and two months to live. I think they are guessing. I remain cheerful and unimpressed. I look forward without dogmatic optimism but without dread. I love you all and I deeply implore you to keep the lasagna flying.masstronaut wrote: It's funny how Robert Anton Wilson and Robert Shea wrote Illuminatus! ostensibly lampooning 'conspiracy nuts' by taking the whole thing to what they thought was ludicrous extremes. Please pardon my levity, I don't see how to take death seriously. It seems absurd.

Come on man, you can do better than that. I've asked you things about your beliefs before and like i say, i've been impressed by you not using arguments like that.Parson wrote:it is possible because i know. because it is true.
What i meant was, "know" requires some kind of absolute hard evidence, which i wanna see. Not so i can mock it, but because i want to be able to make my own mind up about it.

i like you're asshole.
No one is aggressively mocking you mate. They just wish you could spell 'your' properly within a given context.
Seriously though, when I wrote at the beginning of this thread that someone should show you that video I meant it. Most people who believe this kind of stuff are nut jobs and can't structure a basic argument to save their lives, you seem to be a reasonably intelligent fellow and it's interesting to hear someone talk about such things with a degree of rationality. I haven't called you names or rubbished your ideas without some sort of reasoned argument so I really don't understand or appreciate your animosity towards me.

i can do better than that but not in internet posts swarmed with assholes calling me names. if you want to talk you can come over here and we'll talk.Slim wrote:Come on man, you can do better than that. Yes I know, I was trying to introduce some levity into this thread by removing words from a previous post of yours so it became a comment about your appreciation of my beautiful exit and then lightly mocked the fact that in this new context the correct spelling would have been 'your' rather than 'you're'.
