The only "conspiracy" that really makes me me wonder is Dr. David Kelly.

Ha ha. A couple of weeks versus people doing lifetime research? But the thing is I'm not talking about conspiracies that are still generally unacknowledged, I'm talking about ones that are well known and on record. Saying that there is no such thing as conspiracy is just inaccurate. Of course you can find some things that you find unbelievable, and those things may be incorrect, but you'd have to go much further to disprove everything that is being suggested.

You have to ask yourself what it is that compels you to laugh at and insult the people who are trying to discover the truth rather than engage them in conversation.

I love it when threads like this pop up in the hideout, cos, while skeptical i am genuinely interested in people's beliefs about these things. Talking to Parson is usually interesting, cos he is obviously not a nut job, but also believes things most would consider weird, so it's good to hear from someone willing to argue these things in a more logical way than most.

Although when you say you "know" about aliens and stuff, how is that possible?

I'd agree about democracy being a sham, but soley for the reason that ticking a box on a sheet of paper once every seven years and deciding which group of politically and visually indistinguishable middle aged men in suits makes all the decisions has fuck all to do with people power.

As for the masons, a friend of mine's dad is one and he is a boring bastard, so if the world does turn out to be run by them i am not going to lose a lot of sleep.

And there was definitely something wrong with Dr Kelly's death, that I am fairly sure of, but would quite like to see that debunking video if possible

It's funny how Robert Anton Wilson and Robert Shea wrote Illuminatus! ostensibly lampooning 'conspiracy nuts' by taking the whole thing to what they thought was ludicrous extremes. Later RAW had to admit that a lot of it seemed to be becoming very plausible to him.

Various medical authorities swarm in and out of here predicting I have between two days and two months to live. I think they are guessing. I remain cheerful and unimpressed. Most people who believe this kind of stuff are nut jobs and can't structure a basic argument to save their lives, you seem to be a reasonably intelligent fellow and it's interesting to hear someone talk about such things with a degree of rationality.
