waves r-bass plug in hench... select your frequency and boost.
a small amount of reverb (gives an effect of layering bass)

The malstron in reason is pretty sick if u play about with it abit, especially layered with another synth

yeah co-sign on 808s, a lot of ppl think they are gonna get their main sub pressure from their lead-bass synth. If you listen closely to a lot of wobble bass records you'll hear the wobble part is not actually where the pressure is, there's a low passed BOOM on the one. I spent a lot of time trying to get pressure out of wobbles and was driving myself crazy. Mostly you don't want the same sound producing both your high-mid bass AND your low sub, as far as I reckon anyhoo.

splitting the bass into higher bass freq. and low bass freq. definitely helps. it also means you can create a 'gap' for your kick. often in dnb production you want to hi pass your reese sound to like 150hz, and low pass your sub to say 75-80hz. this creates a nice divot to add you kick.
