The Melbourne Shuffle & Dubstep
Ok, I really want to see the Melbourne Shuffle at Dubstep gigs, obviously a variation on its original form would be needed but fuck it would be funny to see this at a Dubstep gig...

Australian Questioning Intonation, or high rising terminal. Upspeak.
I don't know about this.
I like the Techno being played, but that dancing seems a little bit too 'look at me, look at me, look at me'. Seems a bit too self consciously show offy for Dubstep. Could be wrong, though. I mean, I didn't know they danced to Techno like that anywhere, because most Techno places I go to are more about trying to avoid sitting or slipping in vomit, than dancefloor showmanship.

I liked your choons, though.

its only "look at me" cos the others dont know how to do it. if only 5 people know how 2 dance then obviously its gonna b like this, like with breakin in clubs. kind of boring after watching the millionth windmill. but if everyone knows how then they wont stand round watching
quite impressed. melbourne knows how to dance.
if not dress ; )

the funny thing about the melbourne shuffle is that every time i visit melbourne my mates and i end up drunk in a club taking the absolute piss.

yeah i reckon full-step tunes would be the go, tunes like Mala - Bury the Bwoi, Skream -Pestario wrote:I love the shuffle (when done well) and I have a go every now and then myself but it doesn't seem to feel right with dubstep, esp with half-step tunes. More straight up and down bouncing and gun fingers seem more appropriate.
shuffling is always best done to technoooooo
Sub Island ect, Thats why I made my tune the "The Melb Shuffle" full step for ease of shuffling. I still reckon a slower version of the shuffle could work with dubstep. It may free dancers up to throw in more moves?
Yeah true, as you said a modified version could work.
IMO the important thing for track+shuffle synergy (haha) is either a straight 4x4 kick or a big high hat on the offbeat - or both. Which is why I think techno is perfect for shuffling. So dubstep with either of these things are shuffle friendly.
lol at this foray into shuffle and rhythm theory!
