The only complaint I have about this night is that I had to leave around 2ish AM just because I had a final to do early this morning.... I'm waiting for thee final now as I am typing.... My ears are still feeling thee fuzz.... My feet are still sore from thee little amount of dancing that I put in.... But, it was totally worth it....

Alright, where to begin. Continental... 5 shots for 10 dollars. 10 Shots consumed.
On to Dubwar... several beers consumed. Here's the score...
Not sure who was opening up on the night, but was not feeling. XI came on and pretty much tore it up somethin fierce. A little more wobble than I like, but nothing I couldn't handle. Emcee who came on was handling his business at that point. Freeza Chin or some shit like that, will confirm and get back with ya. They must have had the system turned way down for this set, sounded quiet. Gomb - Bounce came right back.
D1 was the fuckin man. Played all the garridge joints, but still brought the narsty ass basslines... just nuff percussion to keep the crowd sailing smoothly.
I realize that this is just now ended like 2-3 hours ago, but I too had to catch a 3:15 train back to the Sea.
Large up Shiva, Rebecca, the T-Dot massif, NEPA people(specifically Conscious for you know what), Rekall making the trip from Illadel, Chamclowder for shaking that ass...
a special FUCK YOU out to Claw for not reaching. Total wasteman

It's Dusk + Blackdown, but yeah, see you all there!joenice wrote:Next month's lineup:
Blackdown Productions (watch for his new stuff -- BELIEVE IT !)
Loefah.
The BombSquad.
and -- the residents: Mr. Dave Q, Juakali and yours truly.
Keysound Recordings, Rinse FM, http://www.blackdownsoundboy.blogspot.com, sub, edge, bars, groove, swing...
drinkin' 40s in the hotel right now, completely rotten.
last night was full on mental, huge up twinsound: warming it up like nothing i've ever seen. Big up D1: some of best technical quick mix and blend in dubstep. Joe Nice brought so much brand new fire, my homies and I lost our voices during his set. Dave closed it out just right. LATE SESSION.
Juakali's energy is unending, man came with the proper hosting abilities, standard. Big up my boy Freeza Chin, jumpin' on the set impromptu style, and completely obliterating it.
massive shout outs to Love Nightclub, certainly the best run club i've had the pleasure of visiting.
But the biggest shout goes out to the crowd, completely in check and on point. High energy and in for the long haul.
Bless up the whole thing!

reporting in from my current location in philly:
that was some RIDICULOUS BASS!!!!
i didn't catch up with everyone, due to the cavernous, dark nature of Love, but damn i had a good time.
D1 absolutely blew the shit up with rhythmic changeups (no comastep here!) and deep tunes. one of the better shows of mixing i have seen in a minute.
great meeting (if only momentarily): ralph, cham, rekall, perk, SAG and the lovely folks chilling outside in the smoking corral.
thanks to joe and XI for tearing shit up as well.
ONLY gripe about the evening:
STOP RELOADING THE FIRST TUNE!!!! there is this buildup of expectation and energy when a DJ first steps up to the decks, and an instant rewind KILLS that building energy. let the DJ settle in and get that shit rollin and then we can talk reloads...
but that's just me...evidently.
also, big city cab drivers who ask the indiana girl if she knows how to get to the stated address, are fucking idiots. it's your job to drive people around the city; you might try learning the city, eh?
