i need to start travelling man...
Haha there is a chance I maybe moving to Didbury come April with a few mates! The surprises just keep on coming heheBlizzardMusic wrote:Didsbury, Manchester

Currently living in Wigan, a town completely backwards. It quite literally has one place which is alright to go out for a drink. We have know decent music scene whatsoever (You can go up to most people in the street and they still won't have a clue what DnB is! That genre's almost 15/20 years old!). We used to have a decent rock scene but thats gone down the pan, all we have now is feckin' Wigan Pier Bollocks!
We are a town with serious problems in teenage pregnancy, under-age drinking, alcoholism, and foul foul racism.
And last but not least we are a mining town..... with no more mining to do. Which would probably explain all of the above!
God it feels good to let some steam off about this foul place

Always wanted to visit Russia.
Thanks)Those pics look fantastic to me. Is it really awful though? How so?
Always wanted to visit Russia.
Well,it isn't awfull at all,but sometimes it is.
First is it's weather.Everyone knows about Russian "great cold winters".But last 2 years we don't have winter at all.Sometimes its snowin',but everything melts in 2-3 hours.Only cold and rude winds.Looks like cold autumn, not winter.Everyday changing climate...it's terrible for some people, who are very sensitive to climate.Just as me...sometimes my blood pressure changes with the weather, and i feel terrible headache and dizziness.
Second problem is that many people forget about thing, called "culture".Many crime situations here, not in the center districts,of course. But don't worry-you will not get in troubles if you'll be carefull.Really don't wanna to scare you with this things anymore.Sorry for doin' it.
I recommend you to come to Russia in summer.Great chance to enjoy it.
I have to say, that my city looks amazing after dusk.(fantastic,as you have told me
P.S.:If you want,I can get some photos not from central districts and show you our "warm winter".

Cool! I think if I was to visit it would definitely be in the summer - like yourself, I don't cope well in very cold weather. What about the language barrier? Do most Russians speak some English or is it better to study a bit of the language before you visit?Method X wrote:Thanks)Those pics look fantastic to me. Is it really awful though? How so?

I think, you will not find any misunderstanding here, because most of russian people speak english.Especially young people.I met some english spoken tourists. They usually use their native language.I recommend you to have somethin' like city guide book for tourists and ,for special case, small english-russian dictionary for tourists.
