Anyone Feeling Electro House / Minimal???

Post by plastician » Fri Jan 25, 2008 3:50 pm

I am WELL into this right now....... So many bangers!!

Kinda like grimy house I suppose - its the first time I've been interested in other genres since I discovered garage, which eventually turned into dubstep and grime

Taking a lot of the flak, and a little of the plaudits is part of what I'm all about.....

Im loving the new wave of UK Bashment sounds coming through....

Toddla T, Heatwave, Mungo's Hi Fi, some Tayo bits, Mr Benn, Steak House...

And further afield Stereotyp, Modeselektor, Shadetek, South Rakkas Crew etc

Yes mate, can't go wrong with a spot of lecky haus, there's been some proper filth about for a few years now. It's gone off the boil a touch in the last year or so, but I must admit I know less than I did about the scene in general.

electro & minimal are to completely (id say almost contradictory) types of music.

but i really really dig good minimal techno.

stuff like luciano, deep chord, and a lot of the stuff on modern love is really killing it for me right now. also A Made Up Sound (2562) has put out some really good techno.

I love House music, but there are so many variations of it, it's hard to pin-point which styles, people are actually talking about. Sebastians stuff falls under about, 5 genres of house, but it's all good though.

Yeah on that stuff - some of those tunes are stupidly good. Perfect antidote to the serious shit

Went to an electro night in Newcastle at the weekend and enjoyed myself much more than I would have expected, buff crowd aswell. Although I think for a whole night the genre doesn't deviate enough to keep me interested week in week out, or at least it didn't when I was there.

Big thread about Minimal in the other music section:
http://dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=17447

Some good mixes / recommendations / discussion in there.
Probably the stuff I buy, DJ and listen to the most after Dubstep.
