Dub not 'Dubstep'
I've recently got into a lot of the Dub stuff but am a newcomer to the sound.
Can anyone recommend anything? On the lines of King Tubby etc?
Thank you.
Vik.

Wicked mate. Thanks a lot.
Is there anything on the same BPM as some Dubstep? E.g. I can play the tracks side by side in a set and it will flow.
For example, playing a 2 Step Garage bit and still being able to mix tracks like Jay Z's 'Big Pimpin' into it?
Thanks.

absolutely anything by rhythm and sound. check also all releases on the basic replay label and honest jon's "look how the people dancing" compilation. righteous!
mixup @ http://www.virb.com/primate
I usually start a set with a little reggae. Ghostown by the Specials is nice, or some dubby vocal. Police in Helicopter for example.
It’s impossible to properly mix cos it’s live and unquantised, but if you kinda ease it in works nice to vary the pace of a set. Might have to go a little loopy with the pitch control though…
