nah, it's down to the label. And a video doesn't have to cost lots to be brilliant - look at the vid for Flat Beat by Mr Oizo, it works well, must have cost fuckall, and makes an instrumental house tune into a funny little 3min story.
Really...? i was under the impression that the artists had to pay... especially with 'indie' labels... it could be part of a contract i suppose..

the oizo vid is good, wasn't he in a levi's advert before it was released though?

Thats live action though so it's gonna cost quite a bit. Camera hire, lights, DOP, s-st-st-studio, props, gaffer etc etc and it was made before the fall in music video budgets too. It's true that you can make a vid for very little, even nothing these days but you have to put in A LOT of time and effort. The Night clip looks like they just asked the fella if he could know something up quick sharp for a release that they hadn't expected to get so large. What usually happens with underground tracks when they blow up is that the lable rushes something out so it can get playtime on music tv channels and then if they think it warrants it they'll make a proper vid with a slightly enlarged budget.

TBH

i like it, shame of its repetitivness as its get rather dull and boring

this wouldnt of taken more than 3-4 days on Maya or something like that

i see how it has been a bit of a rush job to get done for a release tho

would of been nice to of seen it morph into other creatures or even change the scenery a bit more

big look tho

well done lads!

not into it. a good video need cost anything. just imagination. that for me lacked it. in a genre where there are so many creatives that seemed slap dash and tacky, IMO. anyways big tune standardly and the video is a plus element that isn't that relevant whether it was good or not.

Looking back, maybe just getting some footage of DMZ would have been the one.

I actually thought Coki and Benga were filming a video at the last DMZ because they had Coke and Benga prints on.

Tried watching it again in my 'current' mindstate and it's still boog.

No offence, just my opinion.

i dont want to be another hater, but it is just boring..

if they dont have the funding, they should set it as a competition for uni students, that way u get some nuff creative shit, abit mad, and loads to choose from! you dont have to pay them (altho more people will enter if there is money) as getting something released for a student is a big deal.. win win situation really.

Great animation work but its missing the arc... this is why it pays to read a bit of Joseph Campbell in those screen writing classes at art school.

Repetitive imagery can work in some cases... just put some spooky anarcho computer voice over the top
