Yeah I'm well into that - loving the retro sounds. I actually arranged a concert with goto80, synthetical and rongfa back a while back.

"Nanoloop is a sound editing and sequencer application by Oliver Wittchow released in 1998 for the Nintendo Game Boy, allowing the user to create sequences that can be played on the device.
The version 2.1 was released in 2004 for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance. The previous version, 1.3, was released for the older models of the Game Boy line.
The latest version of Nanoloop is 2.2, for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance system, released in 2007."

I've only tried LSDJ, which is a sick tracker, but nanoloop looks dope as well. Its amazing what you can crank out of gameboys. Heard of prophet64? A super nice sequencer/drum machine/bassline/monosynth in one for c64 - a definite killer!
