Smokers
How many of you are smokers? Just curious to see how many of you do and what are your feelings about it. I smoke about 8 a day and find it necessary to get through the working day. Plus I'll have a couple of spliffs when I get home, this too I find necessary.
On the whole I fidn smoking cigs is a massive pain in the arse. The main effect it has on me is the lack of wanting one after I've had it. It does de-stress me but I put that down to the addiction more than the effects of nicotine. I have no real problem with weed apart from the odd week or so when it gets on top of me and I find it to be a mental blag.

Yea I smoke about 10 a day through the week and about 25 over a weekend, due to alcohol etc...I've stopped smoking weed now unless I'm out and I feel excellent for it, much clearer in the head and more motivated to do things when I get home.
I find smoking a pain in the arse as well, and like you said it does nothign except make me feel like I dont want one...Afew times iv tried leaving it about 3 or 4 hours in between snouts, when doing this I do feel like im getting some "benefit" from smoking, although again its probably down to calming the addiction rather than actual nicotine

Ive been smokin for too long, dont really wanna quit right now though... one of the only things that gets me through work. Ive all but quit at home, which is nice. I only smoke outside at home which helps. I dunno, I like taking a little break once and a while and heading outside for a smoke... they're also about half price over here compared to you guys so its not as bad on the pocketbook.
I did this thing once a long time ago to try to quit that would have worked with a little more willpower. Basically every other time I thought about going for a smoke I would wait till the next time I got an urge. It only took two weeks to get down to 1 or 2 a day. I also lowered the strength as I went too, starting with Marlboro Reds and working down to Ultra Lights. When I was really close to quiting I went to a house party and smoked a pack cause I got really drunk and then said fuck it and kept smoking.
What Ive found the most important thing about quiting to be is an actual desire to quit. You really have to honestly want to do it for yourself or it will never happen. Nicotine is right up there with crack and caffine for addicitiveness.

I feel the same... all my friends are out there anyway, might as well go have one with them. Plus at work its an excuse to get up and go away from my desk for a few minutes, no questions asked. I basically get an extra 30min or so of breaktime cause I smoke.Corpsey wrote:Any time I go to the pub/a club I smoke. I'm part time addicted.
It's stupid really, I keep meaning to stop altogether.
Funny thing is the smoking ban has almost made it more difficult to stop, as everytime everyone goes outside to smoke I feel compelled to go with them.
i smoke 3 a day during the week at work at probably 20 or 30 when i go out on the piss.
hardly ever smoke at home any more. i only do it at work to break the day up a bit, and only do it when i drink alcohol because of biology, apparently.

or
if i'm feeling lazy. whoever designed the new box needs to be fucking shot
