harkaransg wrote:Great night. Still mashed. Miricale, Coki's madness tune and the last tune in dmz best of the night. Goth Trad v Distance, too dirty, just pure madness. Big up them, they made it explode. Kode 9 playing that new Bug tune with Flowdan, is mental. Kinky by Skream is too much too handle. Out to everyone else that played. Got the best pic of Youngsta ever! (lol).

Good to meet some many peopel once again. Out to Jay and Hazel from Dublin, hope you guys had a safe journey home. Respect out to Mala, is a legend. Daniel, David and Adam ofcourse. Big up Braiden, Deapoh, Appleblim, Chef, the ladies working in the ticket booth, Oneman, Julia (too random) and everyone else we spoke to. Respect to all the DMZ crew. Thanks

Pictures will be up some time soon. Along with other events that have already taken place this year.

Peace

Wixxed night \m/

I work at a company called GMJ and I just answered the intercom at work saying "Hello, DMZ?". I really don't feel normal.

What a huge night! I did start a tad early, in the effra at 4:30 with Frebentos, so I remember names and faces but a lot of them don't fit together quite as well as the should. So many folk running about in there, proper family vibes and all that, and some rather splendid tunes too.

I hope the next two months goes quickly.

Guff... Monday morning never felt so muggy! Not quite sure where to start with this one cus haven't quite pieced together everything just yet...

Seem to remember popping down to 3rd Bass about 1am and not having the mental or physical ability to tackle the stairs until the lights went on down there :6: Was special again down there, everyone ripped it up, plastician, chef playing jungle, oneman and benny ill !!!! Big up Appleblim for playing Sound Control as last tune!!!!! I think I may have cried.

Cheers to merkle for organising the effra takeover, certainly contributed to the downfall of a good number of people I think, no less young Misery :D Big up Kid and Charles for looking after me in the dying hours!

Out to the Dutch contingent showing up in force and in matching blue tops, i thought there were 50 of you at one point, but I'll put that down to the sambuka and dragon stout. How we all got back to Brighton I'll never know...!!!!

really good night. DMZ should be proud of what they have built- not only from "dubstep growing" POV but the organisation of the event; no problems, everyone getting in (may have been a bit crowded in main room but some things can't be helped), amazing vibe, great sound...
all I can say is thankyou to all the DJs, DMZ and anyone else involved in making the event so enjoyable.

Really enjoyed most of the sets of the night (stayed mostly in the main room) and thought the "versus" format was a good way of complimenting different styles from different DJs. Was sceptical at first- wouldn't think D1 vs. Youngsta would work as well as some others- but found the different styles kept sets refreshing and interesting in the long run.

Youngsta mixing bassface immaculately was a special moment.

Pinch and Cyrus did a really good job of warming the main room up.

Quest and LD both played excellent sets- glad they played a set of 2 halves actually, having said the above, cos quest's style is meditational, drawn out and seriously deep- beautiful music from the soul- and his tunes worked so well together on that system. Big up.

Mystiks and Loefah brought the goods and really packed out the main room with a great selection- just hearing anti-war dub in there alone would have been worth the 8 quid.

Joe Nice and Dave Q played a good selection with a great intro haha.

Distance and Goth-trad- absolute filthy set full of massive cuts. Hope goth-trad gets more dates in UK, as his productions are dirrty. Easy on the pull ups from everyone in the booth tho

Skream and Hatcha played banging set with selection that kept the main room jumping at a stage when some (maybe i only speak for myself) were beginning to lag. Like someone else said, thought that was the best skream mixing i've heard- was definately more on point than usual, and no other DJ had a stage (or should I say booth) presence like him; the gunfingers, holding up dubs- don't know if it was cos he was drunk but absolutely loved it and he kept the crowd going.

Kode9 and Plastician's set did a great job of warming down and the vibe and strength of the crowd intact. Their different selections complimented each other well I thought. Broken Flowers remix everytime..pure meditational.

Didn't see too much stuff in 3rd bass- wish I had (specially oneman vs. benny, plastician) but didn't know who was playing- lineups would have been nice  . Some of the stuff I did hear in there was vvery nice though, specially near the end during Shackleton/Appleblim.

Again, many thanks to DMZ and all organisation crew for such an excellent, entertaining night.

Best night ever! Just lost my DMZ virginity but I'll be back for more, oh yes. Kode 9 and Plastician were the highlight for me, closely followed by Mystikz. To be honest I'm glad I never realised other rooms were open cos I'd have been agonising over where to go and probably spent most of my time on the stairs lol. Got back home on Sunday night and fell asleep during MOTD2, but I did manage to give my mum her pressie. Sorry if this is a bit rambling and disjointed but I'm sure anyone who was there will understand :D

Hold tight everyone I met - markle, subsound, moonshine, drew, stanton, badger, dubluke, andrea, boomnoise, joe nice, kuma, rosa, yuri, thijs, datura, frebentos, frodo, hera, carol (cheers for the whisky!), dave q, the guy who gave me half a bottle of magners, the couple in the effra who didn't know what dmz was and were wondering why so many international crew were there, the guy I bought some weed off mainly cos I felt sorry for him. Out to anyone I met but I've forgotten - your time!

Special shout to crystal darkness for hanging about with me for the whole night

Ahhhh Man!!! Wish I was still there.......that seriously was the best night I have ever had......EVER!!!

Think everyone has really touched on the DJ's etc.....all were amazing, especially goth trad n distance, that set will go down in history!! So nice to see the US gang again, and to meet some dudes from Miami - its was actually great to say "yeah, I'll see you in a few weeks"....WOOO HOOO!

My feet have never hurt sooo much, I mean, I have like 7 blisters, not that you wanna know that!

Anyway, pissed off I didnt catch oneman/benny downstairs.....that was crazy going down there, like going back in time! Surreal feeling

Out to all the gang and hall way lurkers

Hold tight Plastic in his white shirt.....LOL....what the hell were we pissing ourselves about??? you give me too much joke!

Oh yeah, and hold tight Grand, changing his cacks in the booth "dolly, cover me, cover me damn it" LOL

Nuff love n respect to DMZ x x x

the united nations of bass on saturday!

too many names to mention, but it was great to speak to all the dmz regulars and people that i met for the first time/put names to faces, etc. great to see you all!

impossible to say which set was fire, as it was pretty much blazing down from 930pm with easily 700 people waiting in the queue before they even opened the doors!
the funktion one additional rig on the left side of mass made a massive difference to the sound in there. even with that room rammed out the weight was right there. thunder business.

highlights:
-goth trad's "jah war remix" OH my dayz!
-joe nizzle and dq b2b
-seeing the benga-coki/night 12"'s on the wall at hmv oxford street earlier in the day and then seeing coki vibin out on stage that night. surreal days!
Image
-the dub rockers set at the opening of 3rd base! loved that! oney in there right afterwards. even though they polished the floor and painted the walls, 3rd base will always be dmz for me. the bass cave that really makes that room is just too good and no white paint can cover up the filth in there. amazing vibes in that room.
-mala's last two tunes, and the rewinds because of them.
-seeing quest in deep MEDItation hearing his tunes drop in the place.
-plastician and kode ending the evening out with one of the best b2b sets in a long time.

special shout out to all the US crew on rinse last night!
-hera for being the lady she is.
-scientist and prior for the 730am bus ride chat.
-pinch for the deep smokeside conversation. badman!
-nick and matty for the 90's hiphop acapella debate! lol.
-pokes for the first massive ankle trauma injury in dubstep. send him some milktray boxes because badman will need it this week.
-the whole dmz family and especially mala for all the hospitality! you are a legend sir!

see you next march!

Rusite's Spliff Dub remix absolutely killed it in the main room.
