Is it just me....?

Post by zefa » Wed Nov 16, 2005 2:34 pm

Or am i being stupid?

Just recieved my copy of 28grams and Fearless today...playing fearless, mixing in I by Skream...between the last two mini breakdowns in fearless just dont drop on the beat and therefore screw up the mix...tried mixing it with other tunes and the same happens...is this happening with anyone else or am i being daft?

Well sort of...if you are 'in the mix' towards the end of the tune then between the last two mini breakdowns at the end it drops out of time throwing the mix out, then after the last breakdown it goes back in sync until the end of the record...

Yeah I guess it's just not the standard 16 bar sections - an extra one thrown in or a couple taken out or something (sorry I haven't listened to Fearless enough to know).

Loads of tunes do this - I just learn them so that you know how many bars 'out' you need to mix it in order for them both to drop at the same time.

For example, both Twisup and the VIP have a little two bar section before the drop - if you mix Twisup in 2 bars early, it drops at the same time as the tune you're mixing into. Schnorted!

This is what I was gettin to, its probably just ad ifferent layout. You just got to figure out the bars.

The only way i can describe it is like the needle skipping when you are in the mix. Cannot work out whether its meant to be in the tune or not??

loads of tunes have this problem. if knowledge didn't have those bongos in the intro and outro you'd be holding your balls during the trainwreck.

Yeah...the thing i find weird about it is that it the 'glitch' for want of a better word come inbetween two breakdowns, so why would it be out of sync...

I realise that tunes may have different patterns and these can be got round by listening but this is not like dropping a tune early or late...as racket says it sounds like a skip...
