area 51 - fac 53 area 92 its all about opinion

Post by dibbz(aka the darkone) » Sat Mar 08, 2008 7:14 pm

Last time i went there it was when M.A.H and Mala were on but - alot of techy sound guys were there amongst the crowd a people, Funktion 1 shit and ask Mala he will tell you just didnt sound loud or good enuff for dubstep - don't get me wrong i love the music and ill be there for Magnetic man etc etc.

I personally put these 3 points in the disadvantage section:

1 - With the smoking ban - you have to wait til 12.00midnight before you can go out to smoke.

2 - Big cue for the smoking situation and 1 in 1 out situation pisses you off when you aint listening to music or smoking.....

3 - I asked the sound boy stood in front of the amps to turn it up and he said he wasn't allowed they would get a noise complaint.....

Point 3 - on a friday night in a major city you would get a complaint - seems like we just having all our rights to have fun taken away and if u don't like it pay your money to get in then get some meaty hands throwing you out coz u have argued they cant stop u from smoking... especially if u just say your going bank.

this is crippling melbourne music.

its unbelievably fortunate our night has the venue it has

we have the only traditional style (operated + design) 'soundsystem'
it took the owner 2years whole years to find a venue!

EVERY venue that regularly has dnb can't truely crank the system here except for this fuckoff place called the hifi ....but in recent years its only been used for pendulum and andy c sized gigs.

i played at a warehouse party once, 10 calls to the old bill in the hour i played, haha i was proper proud, no trouble with dnb being played....tells me its lost its sub :)

really gets me man....this is my theory:
If you move into town yea, in the MIDDLE of town, ur moving into a busy fast paced living enviroment....pubs and clubs are STANDARD. shud know and understand....does my head in.

i guess its fortunate, even at BIG one off gigs of 800 odd people for andy c....u can still easily walk in and out for a smoke....the one in one out shit is a disgrace.....so if u go out for a smoke ....they let a payer come in? that seems a bit suss to me (i feel ive got it wrong?)....i think the house scene here wud suffer from that

im originaly from manchester, lived there twice, about 7years in total...
sale/wythenshawe....timperly last time i was there...went back for dmz a bit ago for a few weeks...was a bit depressing if im completely honest...fucking scallies, fuck me...its not about altricham night life......wastemen EVERYWHERE.

better get back to this college assignment, wrote a bit of an essay here ha
