did this track with my new korgy, really love that blue baby. makes things so easy to access and develop! and the tube sound really rips it off.

i know that the beginning of the track is a little harsh but it all comes together somehow. would be happy 'bout sum replies!

I like this one - cheeky little track and reminds me of wicked 1980s computer games for some reason.

I'm a massive fan of the Electribes myself (got the ES-1, EA-1 and ER-1, which is a pretty fun combo for live sets) but the one massive problem with them is that it's often quite hard to get away from sounding like Electribes. While that's not a problem in itself, I can see that the EMX is no exception!

So this is a good track - tune and structure is cool - but it sounds very Electribe, if you know what I mean?

Production wise, I'd be tempted to make that kick a bit less muffled sounding and try to get it punchier and harder. Overall, the mix is OK but it could be improved absolutely loads with a bit of mastering to polish it off.

The track needs some EQ at both ends of the spectrum to bring them out, and definitely compression to give it some more punch.

It sounds to me like a good track that could easily be made wicked if you just tighten up the mastering, so that's what I reckon you should put your efforts into working on, because your structure and stuff is totally fine.

I know it sucks when you've finished a track and you just want to release it, but the way I look at it, if you've spent a few days writing something, the least you can do is spend an hour or two (I like to spend anything from 1-3 hours on mastering for each track, and that's considered short by some people) polishing it once you've finished it.

Sounds to me like you could do that with this mix as it is right now, 'cos it's in the right starting place for it... so maybe you should give it a go?

alright, first of all: thanks , i think i know what you mean by the elelctribish sound, even though i haven't worked with it that much yet... used to hate that in reason (till version 3), cause everything sounded ...well, like reason...

so about that mastering issue... that bassdrum should be no problem, and i'll check it right after finishing this post... sorry, mastering again:

as far as i see it, the way to go is to record each synth and bass/snare/hihat sound to different lanes like in cubase or ableton (know how to operate that one) and then do what? cut out frequencies of bass/bassdrum? compress the shit out of everysound? equalize till they sound better? what are your preferred mastering steps with electribe/over all sounds muteqx? i'm also used to work with vst's of course...

saw benga last week in leipzig (germany) by the way which was totally awesome (luckily dubstep is getting bigger over here too), but still a lot of people don't know what to do with these bad ass sound... which is probably good, regarding the whole musicindustrydevelopment shit, but lousy, if want to throw a party in a rather small city... but anyways... the sound is way to hellish for mainstream and I'll cut off that selfdiscussion right here.

Gotta run in a sec... but in short, I don't think you need to re-record it. The mix is fine as it is, so probably no need to dump it all into separate tracks. I reckon you could make it work well just mastering it as it's is already.

There's some mastering tutorials on these forums somewhere if you're new to it, though there's no "recipe"... you gotta find your own way.

Gimme a shout tomorrow if you need any pointers.

i like it especially the fact that you made it on an electribe. my girlfriend has an mc 909 that i always stare at but then get on my computer and everythings easier. but the sound quality is something else on the hardware..
