First time post here - cheers, everyone. Great thread.

Instrumental hip hop/turntablist/beat records greats IMO:

recent
Oh No 'Dr. No's Oxperiment'
Jay Dee 'Donuts'
Ghislain Poirier 'Breakupdown'
Sixtoo's 2007 joint
Thes One 'Lifestyle Marketing'
DJ Alibi 'One Day'
Daedelus 'Denies the Day's....'
Madlib - both Beat Konducta records, Blue Note album
Diplo 'Florida'
Birdy Nam Nam s/t

not recent
DJ Shadow 'Entroducing' (covers a lot of ground)
Kid Koala 'Some Of My Best Friends Are DJs' (or anything else...)
RJD2 'Deadringer'
X-Ecutioners 'Expressions'
Q-Bert 'Demolition Pumpkin Squeeze Musik'

I'm sure I could come up with more...there's already been some great responses. :)

Apart from some excellent stuff yet mentioned, I warmheartly recommend Luis Slipperz & Rawdog - Bareback Instrumentals. One of the best albums of 2006.

Some bad boy beats here. Wouldn't have thought this many people are into this kind of stuff.

Other favs I've been feeling are Ohene, Kankick, Marc Mac (Visioneers) Ge-ology, Shin-Ski (of Shinsight Trio).

SAFE!

I'm not THAT hot on my intrumentals, putting a name to the song or producer to beat...

Wonder if anyone can point me in the right directions....

Some of my favorite tunes what I don't know who made em is..

Nas - Nas Is Like
Nas - Shootouts
Bustarhymes - any tune on Extinction Level Event
Ludacris - Any tune on Back For The First Time.
El-P - Any tune
Jehst - Liquid Diction
MadVillan - Meat Grinder
Pharoah Monch - Simon Says
Anything on Klashnekoffs first album (does he produce himself?)
Skinnyman - What's My Life Like?

Thanks in advance!

el-p produces all his own stuff. madvillain is either madlib or mf doom. pharoahe monch absolutely outdid himself with the simon says beat—self produced.

another one:

beneath autumn sky: enki's du mono is the one, but renewed is dope as well.
count bass- d's some music part 2 is nice as well.
