Trying to figure out why my latest one-hour long mix CD, which I spent a combined total of about 8 hours recording, editing, mastering, making sound like sex, is now fucking me about and not playing through my Macbook without sounding like it's under water. Stick my headphones in, or run the sound through my monitors, and it sounds fine. Just not through the built-in speakers. (Every other mp3 I have, tunes and mixes, sound fine..)

Also, in two minds as to whether to go out or stay in and play PS3.

Ah shit, that's right. "Duh".

(Wonder why I'm getting the same problem when I play the mix through my flatmates Acer..)

Got to be some point in your processing, or exported at a gash rate.

Please elaborate. I've asked several producers/musically insightful people what may be the case and no one has a clue. It was mastered in Cool Edit.. partly by me, but mainly by a mate (who's actually my station manager and a sound engineer).. could he have gone wrong somewhere?

Ok, you just added that bit..

Was that a pun?

It was recorded through Cool on a pair of 1200s, using Serato and my Macbook as a WAV file. Then edited, mastered, and exported as a 320kbps mp3 file.

Wa'dem?!

ah I thought your explanation was long and you were having a joke.

ive done it before where exported files on 320, then some day it changes back to lower rate by its self, and i havent noticed until playing the file.

Well it's defo a 320. Says so on itunes, and the files a chunky 140mb.

I'm just confused and tired. Back to the studio tomorrow..
