Sodium Nightlife: new tunes (rolling thread)
Hello all, i'm a producer from edinburgh. I'm trying to make music that's as influenced by deep house and modern classical as UKG. I've had good words from Gutterbreakz, ben ufo and peverelist, so i'd be honoured if you could check out my stuff and give me comments/criticism.

The new one is "Naked and Ashamed."
Thank you,
Jacob.

Jacob these tunes are absolutely wicked man, such sick vibes, really really feeling them, keep doing what you're doing! Malaise in particular is very lush, Account also is a sick one
relating to the above, i actually really enjoy the slightly rough, un-processed aesthetic on the drums... reminds me of grime, early house, juke etc, which brings a really different feeling compared to really finely tuned stuff
big up man

Thanks for all the feedback!
Been working hard recently, really feel I've got a fair bit better at making these bits. So, two new things on the myspace player: Out You Go and Hare Cut.

If you check them out and have any responses, feel free to post away - good or bad.
Thanks,
Jacob

Hello everyone, I have three new tunes on my myspace now. I've had kind words from Untold and Martyn about these ones, plus my friend Chris likes them too which is always a good sign. Hit them up, any thoughts much appreciated.

Digging Hare Cut - the B-line makes it for sure. Particularly love the clave under the handclap in the 'snare'. Not sure about the progression at 2:00, but it resolves itself nicely between 3:00-3:30. Would love to hear this on a proper system.
I love the deep in the basement vibe of the breaks-n-bass intro of Jara, but by about 2:00 I'm wondering where it should go. I feel like something needs to interrupt the rhythm to keep the vibe fresh.
Must say though - Green Fields is just a lovely composition. I've been reading the paper listening to it and it just unfolds beautifully. The rolling development in the arrangement make it a lovely listener. Layering on some effects in the mixdown could amplify the hypnotic effect nicely.
Cheers for the good tunes!
